Hi Wat3rfalcon,

I can't see the details on that screenshot, but we will produce a report with all information from Add/Remove Programs.

Could you also tell me if you have any symptoms apart from what you have in your Add/Remove Programs list?

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your reply
Once complete, please post both DSS logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as DSS produces one for you.
Helo _silver_ and thanks for helping me.

The screen shot of the Add/Remove Programs shows that I have installed a lot programs but it doesn't show in that menu.Example, lets take a point,20 June.Programs that I installed before 20 June wasn't show up in that menu but programs installed after 20 June was shown in that menu. This just an example of explanation, when is that point,I don't know.

About other symptoms, whenever I want to restart or shut down the computer, the system has to end task a program named "Net Broad Cast" or something, not sure what it is.

Here is both of the DSS log.

Hi Wat3rfalcon,

OK I think I understand - there are programs which should appear in Add/Remove Programs but aren't there - or they don't look right. If you could post a bigger screenshot it might help.

I'm going to look for malware on your machine to see if it is the cause of the problem. If the issue isn't malware-related then I will advise you how to get further help.

Regarding the "Net Broad Cast" problem - please make a note of the exact name of the program and post it in your next response.

You have a program called Messenger Plus! Live installed. When installing it offers a choice to either Install the sponsor program or I refuse to give my support, don't install the sponsor. The sponsor program is malware so if you installed it we need to remove it. Even if you didn't install the sponsor program I strongly recommend you remove this program anyway as the developer is spreading malware for profit - read more information about this here.
To remove the program open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, find Messenger Plus! Live and select Remove

It looks like you have Zone Alarm firewall installed but it is deactivated. Are you aware of this and did you do this on purpose? Please re-activate Zone Alarm firewall before continuing, if you have any problems with this let me know and I can help.

Then, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following lines (if present):
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Next, please do an online scan with Kaspersky:

Open Kaspersky Online Scanner in Internet Explorer

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky,
Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT and then Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • The program will start to scan your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on the Save as Text button and save the file to your desktop
Then, please download F-Secure Blacklight
  • Click I ACCEPT and download the graphical user interface version to your Desktop
  • Double click the file to run it, choose I accept the agreement then press Scan
  • It will create the fsbl-xxxxxxx.log on your desktop.
  • The log will have a list of all items found.
  • Do not choose to rename any yet! I want to see the log first because legitimate items can also be present.
  • Exit Blacklight and post the contents of the log in your next reply.
Once complete, please post the Kaspersky log, the Blacklight log and a new HijackThis log. Also confirm about "Net Broad Cast", Messenger Plus! Live and Zone Alarm.
Helo silver.

Hi Wat3rfalcon,

So now that you have removed Messenger Plus! has the "NET-BroadcastEventWindow .1.0.5" error stopped occurring?

Kaspersky detected mIRC (an IRC chat program) on your computer - did you download this purposefully?

Kaspersky also deletected a copy of Nero:
D:\Nero 7\Nero-7.8.5.0.exe
It was flagged because it contains an adware toolbar as an optional component.
If you install this program please take care to install it without the toolbar - you are offered the choice during the installation.
Because Nero choose to bundle this type of program, I recommend considering a safe, free alternative such as ImgBurn

Next press Start->Run, copy/paste the below command (it's one big long command, not two lines) into the box and press OK
reg export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall "%userprofile%\Desktop\uninstall.txt"

A file called uninstall.txt will appear on your Desktop, please include it in your next response as an attachment - it will be too big to post.
No,the "NET-BroadcastEventWindow .1.0.5" error didn't stop accouring.I heared it has related to ATI because I using ATI as my graphic card. Yes,my brother use mIRC to chat with friends. Erm,sorry but how to add attachment here?I don't see any button.
Hi Wat3rfalcon,

With regard to the "NET-BroadcastEventWindow .1.0.5" you are quite right, this appears to be related to ATI software. It is not malware-related so I recommend you post in the Other Computer Problems forum here at Tom Coyote for assistance - alternatively you could try ATI's forums.

To upload the file you can do this instead:

Open http://www.mytempdir.com
Click Browse, located uninstall.txt and press Open
Then click Host it
Once it has uploaded you will see File uninstall.txt (512 b ) has been successfully uploaded.
Underneath that will be a link to the file that looks like this: http://www. mytempdir.com/123456
Post the link in your next response.
Hi Wat3rfalcon,

I can see a couple of programs with information in the registry that aren't being displayed in your Add/Remove Programs list, but not very many. For example HijackThis and AVG Antivirus have entries in the registry but don't appear on the list.

If you have a lot of other programs installed that should appear in the list, then the registry information has gone for most of them. Have you used a registry cleaner or similar program recently? If so, this may be the reason for the problem. Where the registry information has been deleted, you should still be able to uninstall programs via Start->All Programs and looking for the uninstall option under the relevant programs' folder.

At this stage I think your machine is clean of malware and the best way forward is for you to post in the Other Computer Problems forum here at Tom Coyote to obtain further assistance with the outstanding issues.

Here are some tips to help you stay clean:

Operating system vulnerabilities can easily be exploited by malware so please ensure your operating system is automatically kept up to date by using Windows Update:
Go to Start->Control Panel->Automatic Updates
Select Automatic and select a suitable schedule
Also, check that your antivirus and antispyware programs are set to automatically update daily.

You have a good antivirus program installed, however I recommend you also install antispyware software with real-time capabilities - this will protect you from a wider range of malware and also that it will protect you from system changes and spyware while you are working, not just removing malware after it has been installed. There are a range of paid-for and free packages available, a free one I can recommend is Windows Defender, available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s…re/default.mspx

Consider a custom hosts file such as MVPS HOSTS. This custom hosts file effectively blocks a wide range of unwanted ads, banners, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and many hijackers.
For information on how to download and install, please read this tutorial by WinHelp2002
If you install this, be sure to follow the DNS Client service instructions before doing so.

Please take care when downloading programs. One of the easiest ways to be infected is to download freeware/shareware programs which come laden with malware. Before downloading, it is crucial to check whether the source is reputable.
One way to check is to use McAfee SiteAdvisor. Copy the domain name into the space provided and SiteAdvisor will give you a report on the website which can help you decide if it is safe. They also have a toolbar for IE and Firefox which adds this functionality to your browser.

Hi Wat3rfalcon, You would probably know if you had run a registry cleaning program. As posted above, you should still be able to uninstall the programs, and I recommend you post in the other forum for further assistance on this and the ATI problem, the experts there may well have seen these issues before and I'm sure they'll be very happy to help :)
