Hi,
I am running XP home, and I constantly get virus detection messages from my CA EzTrust antivirus program.
It always says Win32/Clspring.ds deleted, and then it says infected. I get this message all the time. CA doesn't
Seem to help me.

I am also plagued by Pop Ads from Outerinfo, usually links to some Porn site. Eventhough I never have
even visited one?????

Can I get some help on what to do??

Here is my hijack log.

Hello Calvinfur,

I see you have automatic updates running, but the machine is only updated to Service Pack 1.

Why SP2 is not installed?

You should update to SP2, but NOT NOW. You can do if after your machine is clean.

Hello Chryssi,

IIIIIiiii——–CHEEEE——-WOW-Wa……………..

Oh well hope your doing well Chryssi. :wavey:

A strange thing happened to me. Somehow my Cmos Boot sequence got changed. The computer displayed an error message,
'Operating System not found", and to load something like PHdisk…..Not sure of the other entries displayed, but things like Scan not found or done or something.

At any rate I had to go into the BIOS and reset the Boot Sequence, now the machine works. This happend right after I restarted from Safe Mode. I had to go back into Safe Mode, to find the log by AVG LOG, after I was trying to post the reqested log on this website. I couldn't find the log, since I didnt save it to the desktop like you told me too. So I went back in to Safe Mode looking for it.

Also don't know if this is relevant or not. But when I enter Safe Mode, I enter as Administrator. When running normal mode, I was always log on as Owner. But Owner does have administrator priveledges. Just thought I would mention this, to make sure I am not doing something that might confuse the issues at hand. I am usually running Hijack, and combofix as Owner.

Holy Moly. I sure keep you busy eh???? :wall:

Again thanks for attention.

Regards,
Calvin
Hello Calvinfur,

You did a fine job.
——————————————

At any rate I had to go into the BIOS and reset the Boot Sequence, now the machine works. This happend right after I restarted from Safe Mode. I had to go back into Safe Mode, to find the log by AVG LOG, after I was trying to post the reqested log on this website. I couldn't find the log, since I didnt save it to the desktop like you told me too. So I went back in to Safe Mode looking for it.

When you went back in Safe Mode and rebooted did you had that 'Operating System not found", and to load something like PHdisk again?
Read here about PHdisk.

Hello Chryssi,

I tried to install Java, but I received a message that said it wasn't compatible with IE SP1, so I guess I am going to upgrade to IE SP2, tonight.
Unless you tell me otherwise.

Thanks again,

Calvin
Hi Calvinfur,

You cannot update to SP2 unless i give you the all clean. So don't update yet.
We need a couple of more steps to be sure your machine is clean.
———————————————
Now Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel, click on Add remove Programs. If any of the following programs are listed there, click on the program to highlight it, and click on remove. Then close the Control Panel.

Hi Chryssi,

OKay, I didn't install IE SP2 yet as you told me. Also my PC seems to be behaving okay. I haven't seen those outerinfo ads, and that system doctor link for several days now.

Here is my Kaspersky report.

Chryssi, I went ahead and deleted all those KazaaUpdate151 (1).exe thingies, and those kmd15_en.exe, referenced in the Kaspersky scan log above.

Thanks for your help.

Calvin
Hello Calvinfur,

I see you used Kazaa which is not a safe P2P program. We do not recommend the use of P2P programs.
  • Many of these programs come with unwanted components bundled with them.
  • If you wish to find out whether the one you're using does click here.

Please note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.

References for the risk of these programs can be found in these links: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/commun…protection.mspx

Hi Chryssi,

Okay, c:\QOOBox has been deleted. Also I haven't used Kazaa in years. So I was unpleasantly surprised to see Kazaa junk hanging around on my computer.

Here is my new Kaspersky report:
