Hello, I see you posted your problem at other forums as well. This is really confusing and you are actually wasting our time with this. This because many helpers will now analyze your log while someone is already helping you. This is a waste of our time and because of this, other people who are already waiting a couple of days have to wait longer. Also, if you receive help from several different helpers - it will be very confusing for you and the helper since instructions may be different and we don't know what steps were performed, so logs won't make sense. So let us know where you want to proceed with your log. In case you already received a reply somewhere else, let us know as well so we can help someone else instead and close this thread. In case you want to proceed here, I suggest you post a note in the other forums you already received help so they can close that thread. Thanks.
Hi, just to clear things up, I have posted another log but that was for a DIFFERENT pc. I need help with this prob please so I will close the oher post. Thanks
Hi,

I mean the log at the other forums, not here:
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/CID-Removal-t160244.html
and still somewhere else.. I remember it seeing on another forum as well, but can't find it.

Anyway, first of all, First of all, you didn't unzip/extract hijackthis.. and it's still in the tempfolder.
So I strongly advise to unzip/extract hijackthis.zip.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/xpcompressedexplanation.html
Create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted.
How do you make a permanent folder:

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files.
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.

Then,

Go to start > controlpanel > software > add/remove programs and look if you have one or more of next programs installed and uninstall them:

Bearshare
Netpumper
Bitroll
Bitgrabber
Bitdownload
Torrent101
CiD Help / CiD Manager
Download Plugin for Internet Explorer
Search Plugin
WinZix
Zone Media

This because they are bundled with the malware you are dealing with (swizzor aka lop).

This will uninstall the malware application.
In case, during uninstall, when asked for the uninstall Verification, please enter the numbers that will appear in the window.
In case it says that the file was not found, doublecheck again if you entered the exact command. If still the same, proceed with next steps.

In case you can't find them,

* Go to start > run and copy and paste next command below in the field:
(Please make sure you copy and paste it exactly as you'll find below)

"C:\DOCUME~1\brian\APPLIC~1\DRAWAN~1\BoneNew.exe" -uninstall

Hit enter.

Then reboot. Important!

After reboot,

* Download Deljob.exe and save it on your desktop.
Doubleclick Deljob.exe.

A log, (logit.txt) should open afterwards. This log will be present on your desktop
Post the contents of the logfile in your next reply together with a new Hijackthislog.

As a sidenote, did you install Automated Surfer by purpose?
http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/…equestId=541946
If not, I recommend you to uninstall it - unless you have a good reason to use it.
Keep in mind, this is a security risk.

Another note, I do not recommend SweetIM For Internet Explorer either.
I don't think you ever read the eula while you installed it:
http://www.sweetim.com/eula.html
It logs what you search for through the toolbar and serves you with targeted ads, as you may also read in the eula:

When you conduct a search through our toolbar, we send our advertising partner your IP so that they might be able to serve ads targeted to your location geographically

Hi, I have done everythinh that you have asked up until the point of running the following command, when I do so, I am told that the location is unavailable. I have not rebooted but I have downloaded Deljob.exe and I will post log in a minute. This is a friend's pc and her children ahve indeed downloaded the software that you have previously mentioned. I will make sure that the said programmes are deleted and cleaned up and that they are aware of the consequences of dowloading such things. I look forward to hearing from you and thanks again. ——————————————————– No LOP jobs found ——————————————————– Files remaining after cleaning Registration reminder 2.job ——————————————————– App data folders Volume in drive C has no label. Hi,

Navigate to and delete next folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sixth second proxy drv

Also post a new HijackThislog in your next reply (you forgot to do this previously :) )
Ok, have deleted that file and here is my HJT log.

Hi,

Please reboot first before proceeding with next steps, because I see you uninstalled Messenger Plus in a meanwhile as well which may also be responsible for the CID popups if the sponsor was installed.
Strange Messenger Plus didn't appear as running/present in the first HijackThislog, otherwise I would have known it was that one that was causing the CID popups.
The reboot is needed since the uninstall wasn't finished yet.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://search.bearshare.com/sidebar.html?src=ssb
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://search.bearshare.com/sidebar.html?src=ssb
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://search.bearshare.com/sidebar.html?src=ssb
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    • Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.
Any idea what is causing these DrWatson errors? Do you get any error when opening a certain program? Anyway, that's why a reboot is so important. So please reboot this computer.
Hi, am just away to reboot but when was on pc last night, Messenger Plus was not showing up with CID whereas did this morning! Very strange. I uninstalled the whole thing this morning so am goint to reboot now.
I guess most probably you have been using this uninstall command as instructed when none of the programs to uninstall were present:

"C:\DOCUME~1\brian\APPLIC~1\DRAWAN~1\BoneNew.exe" -uninstall

And this one could have triggered the Messenger Plus uninstall - since Messenger Plus is also responsible for CID popups.
Yes, make sure your friend (and kids) read this page:

http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiem…prevention.html with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.

Happy Surfing again!
