Heres my most wonderful log…

My prob is stupid IE windows popping up all on there own. I don't even use IE. I use Firefox 2. Win XP Pro. Might even have some other stuff bad. I recently ran Spybot and Adware. Adware had found something that supposedly was taking the serials from my programs. I hope they didn't get anything or see me typing passes. dayam.

Thanks

Those errors are normal when trying to kill those bad guys.

I need you to run these.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Next:

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

2. Save this text as fixme.reg. Make sure the "Save as type:" is "All Files (*.*)" and save it to your desktop. Include the word REGEDIT4

3. Double-click on fixme.reg. When it asks you to merge the information to the registry click Yes.

4.Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
did it. I tried to empty recycle bin, but it said it could not delete a certain file. It was too long of a file name something like "native instuments dycrypter v3 to v4" it was a file i tried to delete a few days ago. I looking in rcy bin and nothing there. Then i tried to empty again and it said "are you sure you want to delete 'windows'?" I said no real quick. Whats going on with that? My pc other wise seems to be ok. I get a pop up window for IE, more recently then ever. ACtually, alot lately, but not much at all before that. Seems to run a bit slow, but maybe its me. Heres the log after the regedit:

Thanks a bunch man
Right clicked on the recycle bin, chose global, moved the slider to zero (0% of the bin is dedicated to trash), hit ok. Voila - bin empty - no windows file. Move the slider back to wherever it was. Let me know if that worked
I did what you said by slidding to zero and tried to left click and empty recycle bin. Still asks the same question "do you want to delete 'windows'?" If i open the bin, it still shows no files inside. How about the log too? Am i cured? lol.
Your log looks good but I don't like the recycle Bin issue.

Go to Kelly's Korner here and scroll down to "Recycle Bin - Repair or Replace" then click on the link just below that bold heading reading "Replace/Repair the Recycle Bin." That link will take you to Doug Knox' site and a repair script. (You could go directly there but there's no explanation there as to what the script does…
rebooted… and

I think its trying to trick me. I left click and choose empty recyc… and it says "multipl file delete confirm" i say no. I do it it again, same thing. I open the bin to whats in there and there is nothing. I close it. I left click to choose empty bin, and now it says the delete 'windows' messgae. It is talking about the allmighty "c:\Windows" folder i assume. Also, the SVG program i installed from earlier, which loads automaticly at statup, keeps finding malware and what not. i'm scaning now to get a log hopefully for you. I'm worried for my pc. A virus maybe? I don't have software installed for viruses. Maybe i should back up important stuff and redo windows. Oh brother…

here is a new hijack one:
