I have attempted to delete most of the files, but access is generally denied. I have attempted this both in normal and safe mode, and even in the administrator account. Also, all of my system restore points before yesterday, the day this all started, are now gone. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello and Welcome to the forum.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Open the HijackThis Folder. Find the file HijackThis.exe, Right Click on the file and Select Rename. Rename Hijackthis.exe to Spyware.exe.

Post a new HijackThis Log.
Followed your instructions, these are the new results. I'm unsure if it's any different from before, though.

I'm unsure if it's any different from before, though.

The Vundo infection you have is now showing in some of the 02's and 020's.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

You can remove any programs / Tools I had you install. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove if listed there otherwise just delete them and empty recycle bin.

Log looks good :D

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
by Tony Klein
Thanks so much for all of the help. Are you sure it's not a problem that I couldn't delete C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winjrs32.dll, though? Norton is still giving me warnings, and Spybot is still saying I have Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888.

I couldn't delete C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winjrs32.dll,

The fix you ran killed it.

What warnings are you getting from SpyBot and Norton's?
I'm not sure if I remember it exactly, but it was warning me about…AdPurity? It wanted to shut off my Internet Explorer, a problem I've been having since this started. Also, these are my recent Spybot results: Avenue A, Inc. Advertising.com DoubleClick Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888 Statcounter Zedo Also, if I run a search for C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winjrs32.dll, it pops up. It's still on my system, apparently.
Download Avenger by Swandog, and unzip it to your desktop or somewhere you can find it. (Do not run it yet).
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip

Note: The Avenger must be run from a user account with administrator privileges,

and ONLY works on Windows 2000 and XP, and only on 32-bit versions!
If yours is a 64 bit version, do not use it, let me know.

Open a Notepad file by clicking Start > Run and typing Notepad.exe in the box, click OK.

Click Format, and ensure Word Wrap is unchecked.

Copy and Paste all the text inside the box below into Notepad.

Now save the file as RemoveFiles.txt in a location where you can find it.

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winjrs32.dll

Start Avenger by double clicking on Avenger.exe.

Check Load script from file:

Click on the folder symbol below and to the right, and browse to RemoveFiles.txt.

Double click it to enter it into Avenger.

Click the green traffic light symbol.

You will be asked if you want to execute the script, answer Yes.

At this point you may get prompts from your protection systems, allow them please.

Avenger will set itself up to run the next time you re-boot, and will prompt you to re-start immediately.

Answer Yes, and allow your computer to re-boot.

Upon re-boot a command window will briefly appear on screen (this is normal).

A Notepad text file will be created C:\avenger.txt.

Copy and Paste it into your next post please, along with a new HJT log.

I am still suffering from a popup problem, Norton is still giving me warning popups (Most recently concerning 'Infostealer' and 'TrojanVundo') and according to Spybot I still have, among other spyware, Smitfraud.
Doubleclick VirtumundoBeGone.exe to start the tool.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Don't worry if you'll get a Blue screen with an error in it - this is normal.
After reboot,

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following if still present (some entries won't be present anymore):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {23859EF1-1EB6-42F3-B2D5-68EA4C85D924} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxxwxy.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: byxxwxy - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\byxxwxy.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winjrs32 - winjrs32.dll (file missing)

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. It will create a file named:
c:\rapport.txt

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:
