Hi, recently i got a virus that shut my computer down every 10-20 minutes. I managed to get rid of that and a few other trojan horses from Avast virus scanner. Actually, I just did this. Everything is running alot better now but i am still not sure if i have a virus. Everytime i open up MSN it gives me these errors:

[external image: Posted Image]

It also does that for other things like System Restore, Sonicstage, and a few others that I cant think of off the top of my head. I am guessing its my javascript but im not sure and I dont want to tackle it.

This is all i can tell you but heres my log:

Hi Koreyvarcoe

Welcome back to the TomCoyote Forums.
I see we are getting somewhere now. Some files are stubborn.
And we need another program to get it out. So please download killbox
from here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php

Don't run yet we will later

NEXT:

Now go ahead and set your computer to show hidden files like so:

click on My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Apply then OK. Click Yes to confirm.
==============================================

Sign off the internet and remain offline until this procedure is complete. Unplug your modem or disconnect the cable or phone line. Copy these instructions to notepad and save them on your desktop for easy access. You must follow these directions exactly and you cannot skip any part of it.

Hi Koreyvarcoe
Just a little more work. Your log is clean and I would like to do these first:
Run HijackThis.exe, and press Scan, and put a check against the following entries, Make sure all browsers and program windows are closed except for HijackThis.

We don't need safe mode now but to get it there is two ways:
There are two ways to do this:

The most common is to reboot your computer and then repeatedly tap not hold F8 or F7 while it's booting up.

The other way to to go to Start, Run, type in msconfig, and click OK. When the System Configuration Utility window comes up, click the BOOT.INI tab, select SAFEBOOT, and then OK. You will get asked to reboot and when you do, it will come up in Safe Mode.

When you're done in Safe Mode, go back to msconfig and remove the checkmark from SAFEMODE. After doing the fix in HJT just post back another log and let me know how your PC is doing.
I will then post back some good things to do to keep it clean.
Good Luck mschroe919
