Make your hidden files visible:

• Click start
• Click my computer
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• After the new window appears select the View tab.
• Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
• Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
• Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
• Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
• Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.

*Find this file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mdmcls32.exe
*Then click on the "open" -button
*Click on the "Send"-button
*Copy/paste the results of VirusTotal into a notepad.

Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.

Otay, first I must appologize for not doing these things. I didn't think anyone was ever going to help me, and when I got the email saying someone finally did, it must of went to spammm.... BUT the good news is we are on the same page now. Here is my new hj log and the rapport log. I can't seem to locate the other file you are requesting when I go to the folder you listed. I even did a search on my C drive and it didn't come up. You will notice that my log has changed lots since my last post, I have been operating on my pc non stop for about 2 weeks, and it is acting better just have a new problem, but I know we will fix it!! Hello Did you make your HjT log in safe mode? If you didn't then...

Your HijackThis log is clean. But I don't see any indications of a firewall or an antivirus software.

Please download AVG Anti-Spyware to your Desktop or to your usual Download Folder.

• Install AVG Anti-Spyware by double clicking the installer.
• Follow the prompts. Make sure that Launch AVG Anti-Spyware is checked.
• On the main screen under Your Computer's security.
  • Click on Change state next to Resident shield. It should now change to inactive.
  • Click on Change state next to Automatic updates. It should now change to inactive.
  • Next to Last Update, click on Update now. (You will need an active internet connection to perform this)
  • Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
• Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware Tray Icon and uncheck Start with Windows.
• Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.

If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

Download the Full database to your Desktop or to your usual Download Folder and install it by double clicking the file. Make sure that AVG Anti-Spyware is closed before installing the update.

Please download ATF-cleaner and save it to your desktop.

• Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  
• Under Main choose: Select All
  
• Click the Empty Selected button.
  
  If you use Firefox browser:
  
  
• Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  
• Click the Empty Selected button.
  
• NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
• Choose your usual account.

Close ALL open Windows / Programs / Folders. Please start AVG Anti-Spyware and run a full scan.

• Click on Scanner on the toolbar.
• Click on the Settings tab.
  • Under How to act?
    • Click on Recommended Action and choose Quarantine from the popup menu.
  • Under How to scan?
    • All checkboxes should be ticked.
  • Under Possibly unwanted software:
    • All checkboxes should be ticked.
  • Under Reports:
    • Select Automatically generate report after every scan and uncheck Only if threats were found.
  • Under What to scan?
    • Select Scan every file.
• Click on the Scan tab.
• Click on Complete System Scan to start the scan process.
• Let the program scan the machine.
• When the scan has finished, follow the instructions below.
  IMPORTANT : Don't click on the "Save Scan Report" button before you did hit the "Apply all Actions" button.
  • Make sure that Set all elements to: shows Quarantine (1), if not click on the link and choose Quarantine from the popup menu. (2)
  • At the bottom of the window click on the Apply all Actions button. (3)
    
• When done, click the Save Scan Report button. (4)
  • Click the Save Report as button.
  • Save the report to your Desktop.
• Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.

Reboot in Normal Mode.

Kaspersky online scanner works only with Internet Explorer!

Please run an online scanner with Kaspersky Online Scanner. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

• The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
  
• Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
  
• Now click on Scan Settings
  
• In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
  
  o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  
  + Extended (If available otherwise Standard)
  
  o Scan Options:
  
  + Scan Archives
  + Scan Mail Bases
  
  
• Click OK
  
• Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
  
• The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  
• Now click on the Save as Text button
  
• Save the file to your desktop.
  
• Copy and paste that information in your next post.

It's been a few days . Still with us ?

Thank you, yes I am still with you. Been moving and havne't had time to do any PCing...... Here is the problem, I use to use SBC Global, security suite. BUT since I moved and ATT isn't available in the area i moved to, i cancled my dsl service, so my other services have since stoped working. BUT I can't get the SBCAnti-virus software off my pc. Now when i say this, i am not talking in the control panel, add/remove, or ANYWHERE i can find in the registry or any programs that even say yahoo, computer associates, sbc or ATT. YET, when i try to install a new anti-virus, it won't allow me because it says I have SBCAntivirus installed, and can't run two antivirus programs at once. I have tried to get yahoo to help me, they say they don't understand what the problem is and have over 300 cases, of people that can't uninstall completly the antivirus program. I am at a loss of what to do. I currently have just the SP2 firewall running, and no antivirus. I have ran c-cleaner, atf, microsoft live, and several other scans trying to uninstall the "piece" of sbc that is hanging around. Any suggestions one might have, i would love to hear. I think that I have removed all spywear or adware that might have been on my pc when i started this adventure. Thanks so much in advance for your help....

Open HJT

this time click on
Misc tools section

then:
Open uninstall Manager
click on save list.
Post that for me.

Open HijackThis
Go to ‘config’
Go to ‘misc tools’
Put a check in the boxes next to the button ‘generate start up log’
Then press the button itself. It will open a notepad file.
Close HijackThis.
Copy and past the content of that file here in your answer.

Make a new folder on your desktop. Call it reg finder

Download Reg Finder
Extract the files to that folder on the desktop you just created..
Go into that folder and double click RegFinder.vbs.
If any of your software gives you a warning about running this just allow it. It's safe.
Type in SBC into the text field that appears and hit enter.

If any software warns you of the script just let it run.
It will let you know when its done and a log should pop up ..If it doesn't there will be a file in the folder called results.txt

Post that for me.
