This all came about when trying to install Windows Live One Care on my laptop.
It wanted to install the newest version of Internet Explorer to keep other things up to date and that part ofthe installation was taking over 20 mins

i finally ended up uninstalling both Explorer 7 and Live One Care ( i think )
so here we go

posted this 7-8 days ago this laptop is still not working properly i have left it alone for the most part since. No need for a fresh log file as nothing has been uninstalled / removed / changed / or fixed
Liqid,

Welcome , when you reply to your own posts you take yourself out of the zero replies catagory that our helpers look for to work logs.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

If you don't want these in your Trusted Zone then fix them otherwise leave them be.

Tutorial for CCleaner

Go to Start> All Programs> Assessories > System Tools> Disk Defragmenter.
This is the Windows Disk Defragger, run this maybe once or twice a month to help speed up your system. The first time you run it, it may take awhile.

This forum is for malware and virus removal only so I am providing some links to support sites that deal with windows issues.

Windows Tech Support ForumsIt's Not Always MalwareSpeedup WindowsWindows TipsKen :D
ran HJT removed the file noted did a DEFRAG in safe mode then went to start the unit in normal mode , i place in my password for windows i see a blue screen………………. nothing else i do a manual shut down (button) wait a few mins and restart into full mode nothing opens. I see my desktop but no programs will open As if the memory load it still there Since the problem started i have removed this units internet connection
Try starting the computer and tap the F8 key as it starts to boot up, when you get to the menu use the Up and Down arrow keys to scroll to LAST KNOWN GOOD and press the enter key and see if it will boot up. There was no need to boot to safemode to defrag in the first place.
