Delay In Typing While On The Internet

When I input text on web pages or by e-mail while browsing the internet, the text appears on the screen some time after I have typed it. The delay can take as long as a minute and doesn't appear to involve programs unrelated to the internet such as Microsoft Works or Office, etc.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry about the delay in responding :( If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thank you for the response. Sorry for the delay. I was in the process of re-formatting my hard drive so that I could re-install everything to get my computer to work. The typing is only slightly delayed at this time and my computer seems to freeze up here and there. Mainly, it just seems to run a little slower now, that's all. Do you need to close this topic or would you like me to re-post a current hijack this log? Gwen

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Re-boot very slow as you warned. No delayed typing noted at the moment. Web pages are downloading quickly and no "freezing" noted at this time. Here is the new logfile run after performing requested tasks. By the way, did you guys see anything in the first logfile, the one
I ran and posted before I re-formatted my computer? I talked to so many help desks trying to fix this computer before I found this forum and the problem baffled all of them.

Didn't see anything bad in your first log.

You'll find that when you get a new PC, that it's loaded with un-needed resource hogs loading at startup. It's the same when you install something like a printer. All you really need is the driver, but by the time you're finished you have loads of stuff installed. It's no wonder you need 3gig of ram and a 200 gig hard drive.

If I would ever buy a store bought pc, I'd also purchase a full version of Windows as the store bought pc's don't, making it impossible to fix the OS.
The only thing you can do is restore the pc like it was when bought.

From new, I'd reformat the hd and install windows from scratch. That's what most of us techie's do.

Your pc is a very good example. No infections, just a bunch of carp**,,,loading and slowing it down


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

THese aren't bad but are resource hogs and not needed at start-up

1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:
Google Desktop Search <–Unless you use it.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

I do not use google and I did remove it and fixed the noted things on the new hijackthis log. Your instructions are very easy to follow. When I posted my first hijackthis logfile my browser was so slow that I just knew I had a keylogger or something horrible:) I never dreamed all those unecessary processes could slow a computer down that much. My computer booted quickly. However, when I attempted to open my mailbox the browser "hung" so I hit refresh and then my mailbox opened quickly. No lagging text:) My computer seems to be running normally. Gwen

Can you help me or recommend someone who can? My horrible typing problem has returned. However, I just re-installed my printer and that is when the trouble started. Also, I believe I had just installed this new printer when the problem started the first time. Is there anything I can do. I really need a printer but I have to be able to type since I am enrolled in an online college course. Gwen

Are you saying that after you installed the printer, it slowed down again?

Yes. Everything was running perfect until I installed this new printer again. When I reformatted the computer I didn't re-install the printer until now. It is strange that my browser problem has returned after installing this printer. Here is the new logfile.
