I am running XP and it crashes 2 to 3 times every day. The screen goes blank and the computer on/off switch becomes non-functional yet the computer stays on … When I power off and re-start everything after the second or third crash the machine runs fine for the duration of the day. I am sure this is related to the: 023 - Service: .NET Framework Service (.NET Connection Service) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\svchost.exe (file missing) entry in my hijackthis log, but I cannot fix or remove it. I have tried deleting .NET Framework using dotnetfx_cleanup_tool but it will not delete. It appears others have had this malware on their computer, but I have not seen or read of a succesful fix. Can you help me?
