hi jerk87, nothing really stands out in the log. except: WinRoll\winroll.exe you know what that is? ----------------------- lets see what avg can dig up. after a scan with avg antispyware do this: select the "Reports" icon at the top. * Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file. Please post the AVG log in next reply. shelf life

hi jerk87,

log looks ok. i think those changes from avg are due to windows updates. if they where malware it would have thrown up a flag.
you use ares. i have some file sharing tips here:

hi jerk87

ares anymore...but i duno y i cant delete completely

youve run the uninstaller in add/remove programs panel? most uninstallers dont remove everything.

scan with HJT, put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click fix checked.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ares] "C:\Program Files\Ares\Ares.exe" -h

some other av:
avast
clamwin
antivir

is abit laggy

when playing online? could be your isp's network.

hi jerk87, log looks ok as far as malware goes. do keep avg resident sheild or guard active? you would see the icon by the clock if so. it may be slowing you down? shelf life

hi jerk87,

i oni experience when i used zone alarm.

only lags since installing zone alarm? are you using just the free version firewall or a "all in one suite" of ZA.
there are other firewalls you can try.

nothing wrong with avg. the best is the one thats kept updated. (dont care for norton)
myself, i like single software like only a antivirus, only a antimalware, only a firewall etc
those "all in one" suites can use alot of system resources, bloatware.
