Hi endrigomatador,
Welcome to Tom Coyote Forums

Please observe these rules while we work:
  • Perform all actions in the order given.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Since there may be other issues with your system besides your original symptoms, please continue to follow this thread until I have given you an "All Clean.".
If you can do these things, everything should go smoothly.

Ready? Let's go.

*=========================*

Couple of questions. Is your Anti Virus subscription paid up and did it prompt you about a Win32:Downloader-gen [Trj] trojan?

Temporarily Disable Security Programs
You have Windows Defender installed. While this is a great program, we need to temporarily disable (not uninstall) the program because it might stop our fix. Be sure to re-enable after the fix is complete

Disable Windows Defender
Open Windows Defender
Click Tools
Click General Settings
Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

Once your log is clean you can re-enable Windows Defender Real Time Protection. It is a good program.
*=========================*

Remove Programs
Please Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Remove these programs by clicking Remove

Bitdownload
Bitgrabber
Bitroll
CiD Manager
CiD Help
Download Plugin for Internet Explorer

If some programs listed are not present, please do not panic
This is because they are bundled with the malware we are dealing with (Swizzor aka Lop). Don't worry if you can't find them.

If during uninstall of any of these programs, you are asked for uninstall Verification, please enter the numbers that will appear in the window.
*=========================*

If any were found
Reboot your PC in Normal Mode

Hi endrigomatador,
Welcome to Tom Coyote Forums

Please observe these rules while we work:

  • Perform all actions in the order given.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Since there may be other issues with your system besides your original symptoms, please continue to follow this thread until I have given you an "All Clean.".
If you can do these things, everything should go smoothly.

Ready? Let's go.

*=========================*

Couple of questions. Is your Anti Virus subscription paid up and did it prompt you about a Win32:Downloader-gen [Trj] trojan? No, my Anti Virus is not paid up.

Temporarily Disable Security Programs
You have Windows Defender installed. While this is a great program, we need to temporarily disable (not uninstall) the program because it might stop our fix. Be sure to re-enable after the fix is complete

Disable Windows Defender
Open Windows Defender
Click Tools
Click General Settings
Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

Once your log is clean you can re-enable Windows Defender Real Time Protection. It is a good program.
*=========================*

Remove Programs
Please Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Remove these programs by clicking Remove

If some programs listed are not present, please do not panic
This is because they are bundled with the malware we are dealing with (Swizzor aka Lop). Don't worry if you can't find them.

If during uninstall of any of these programs, you are asked for uninstall Verification, please enter the numbers that will appear in the window.

Let me know how your system is now running

Thanks,
Rogue

There were none of the programs listed in the Control Panel that you listed. Should I go on like your instructions list?
ROgue, I completed all. The only thing is I could not find and delete the links that you posted at the end of the string of instructions. I could not find anything that started with ELSEWE and or begins with INTERA. I am unsure of which log you are wanting me to post. Please let me know and I will get it done. Thanks for all of the help!!! BTW, I am not currently subscribed to an Anti Virus. I let it expire. What do you recommend for my system?
Hi endrigomatador,

No problem if you couldn't find those folders. The NoLop log should tell us if they are still there

Please post the following;

New Hijackthis log
Nolop log located at C:\NoLop

For an AV download one of the these..all free After downloading and installing. Uninstall your expired version.

I'm off to bed but will check this in the morning.

Your doing well.

BTW what is a AV Download?

If I am understanding you correctly the downloads are virus protections:)

Do I need to go into each individually and setup times for them to run?

Sorry, yes AV is short for anti virus. Please only download and install one. Since your antivirus (AV) has been expired it would be a good idea to update and scan with your new AV.

I need to see a new hijackthis log also.

Thanks,
Rogue
Man, I figured it out about the time I pushed the reply button. Okay, I'll wait for your response on the log. Thanks again, Leroy
Hi endrigomatador,

Yes I see the nolop log but I still need to see a new hijackthis log.

Open hijackthis
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button.
It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Copy and paste the log to this topic

Thanks,
Rogue
