I looked at Comodo firewall and noticed that AVG always found a problem whenever this program asked for permission to access the internet C/windows\system32\cmd.exe [parent] application - c\windows\help\lssas.exe I also just now blocked this - irdvxc.exe But maybe these are ok???
Ok those are bad.

Let's do some research.

Generate a HijackThis Startup list:
Open HijackThis:
  • Click on "Open the Misc Tools Section"
  • Check the following boxes to the right of "Generate StartupList Log":
    • List also minor sections (Full)
    • List empty sections (Complete)
  • Click "Generate StartupListLog"
  • Click "Yes" at the prompt.
  • A Notepad window will open with the contents of the HijackThis Startup list displayed
  • Copy & Paste that log to here
Here is the start-up list. By the way I have WinPatrol which perhaps you can help me to use to block or remove certain things.

Hello :)

Please remove any old versions of SDFix.

Download SDFix and save it to your desktop.

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
  • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
  • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the script.
  • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

Ok, thanks.
Hi :) Ok, keep you hidden files visible. Navigate to this folder, C\Windows\Help Are there some files in it? Are you still getting warnings from AVG and Comodo?
Hi, I dont quite know what you mean about C windows/help. There are a lot of things in it. I dont what you mean by files. The warnings from AVG and Comodo only come up every few hours. I will do a complete safe mode scan with AVG. Ok, thanks Simon
I get a message from Comodo saying the lsass.exe is trying to acces the internet. I deny access because I am not sure. About 5 seconds later AVG wil report this as a trojan dropper This file path shown by Comodo is C\Windows\Help\lsass.exe I read something that lsass must be located in system 32 other wise it is a virus/trojan But I dont know if this is true. I went to Winodws help and found lssas.exe help I clicked on its properties and says the file was created 31 March 2007. I have had this computer for years. Does that make it suspicious?
Hi, Sorry for the delay. My most recent scan with AVG found 2 trojans in; 1. System Volume Information\restore 2. Windows\Help\internat.exe Thanks, Simon
Hi again :)

Sorry for the delay…

Ok please delete the C:\Windows\Help folder.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Hi, I have used Firefox for years. I cant open IE, so I cant get Kapersky to run. I dont know how to set up my computer to use IE. Sorry
Hi, AVG finds one Trojan Horse Dropper. This is the same one that keeps coming back even after I delete it. C:\System Volume Information\_restore{………}.exe Inside {….} are all these numbers which I havent written because there are so many. OK, thanks Simon
Hi :)

The infection is inside the System Restore folder and can be easily cleaned if everything else is working.
  • Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click System Restore.
  • Click to add a check mark beside Turn off System Restore on all Drives, and click Apply.
  • When you are warned that all existing Restore Points will be deleted, click Yes to continue.
Restart your computer normally.
Then we'll enable system restore again.
  • Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click System Restore.
  • Uncheck beside Turn off System Restore on all Drives, and click Apply.
  • Close the window
When you're ready, post a one more HijackThis log to here.
