I flushed the DNS cache as you said and verified that all DNS entries are provided by DHCP. I wasn't sure where to go from there. The symptom still persists. thanks, Fatty

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

LDTate, Sorry-I got sick and haven't revisited this yet. I do recognize the first two items as legit. The second two I intend to investigate in a day or so when I get better. Thanks for asking! ~Fatty

LDTate, These two files were fairly suspicious: C:\WINDOWS\system\end.bat C:\WINDOWS\system\logcrtt.exe They looked like some parts of a hacker tool that had been scanning various hosts on the LAN. There were some log files showing the activity of the logcrtt.exe executable. But these files were all about 3 years old. I deleted the lot. ~Fatty

LDTate, It runs fine, but it has always run fine. Just the ctrl+alt+del thing makes me paranoid. ~Fatty
