Markka,

Still can't seem to eliminate the following two entries:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

Everytime I delete them ... they reappear.

IE stills opens up to this page:

Hi Markka,

Here's an update ...

My son fixed the http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx problem. He searched the topic in Google and found a fix (which he applied) ... so now IE opens to the proper Home Page. Also, pop-ups seem to be eliminated (so far).

However, I still can't seem to eliminate the following two entries:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

Everytime I delete them ... they reappear.

Any ideas based on the previous HJT log file?

Joe

Hello and sorry for the delay again :(

These two line are just left overs so it's OK if they are in HijackThis log.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

Otherwise your HijackThis log is clean. Also now you can re-install mcafee if you want :)
