Hello everyone,

I scanned my computer with panda and it told me I was infected with the killapp.b. I was wonder if some can take a look ay my log file and tell me if have been infected with anything.

We'll check out what Panda found, however we'll tidy up a couple of things first:

You have the trymedia.com domain in your Internet Explorer Trusted Zone. Trymedia.com isn't a malicious website, however the security settings which apply to websites that are in the Trusted Zone are much more permissive than normal, so any sites in this zone are a potential security risk. I will provide instructions for it's removal and I recommend you follow them unless you are absolutely sure you want it to remain.

You may have MyWebSearch installed on your computer. It is not malware but it is considered undesirable because it reports your surfing activity and is associated with targeted advertising. I strongly recommend you remove it. If you wish to do so:
Open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, look down the list for and remove any of the following:
MyWay Speed Bar, My Search Bar, My Web Search Bar, Fun Web Products Easy Installer

Now, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a check-mark next to the following line:

If you wish to remove trymedia.com from your Trusted Zone then check this line:

Then, close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Next I'd like to know what file(s) Panda thinks are infected, did you retain the Panda scan log? If so post a copy in your next response, otherwise perform another scan as follows:
Open this page in Internet Explorer:
http://www.pandasoft.../activescan.htm

Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button.
A new window will open...click the Check Now button.
Enter your Country, State/Province, enter an e-mail address and click Send.
Select either Home User or Company.
Click the big Scan Now button.
If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it.
It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan.
When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

Once complete, please post the contents of the ActiveScan report and a new HijackThis log.
