If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

Who is the admin account under.

The tab is there... its just that the box i need to check is unhighlighted..I log on under owner<administrator> i bought the puter new...i can get to a sytem restore under performance and maintenance...will that work? <there is no box to turn off > just a place to create a restore point.. .... So close....

On the left hand side look at the bottom System Restore Settings.

Bingo! OK was able to do the final step as requested...Thanks.. Now my only question Is i have svchost.exe and ndis.sys trying to access the internet..is this normal? Thanks for all your help :)
