need help with win 32 vb cst

hi,

Last couple of days i have tried to remove a virus and i cant seem to get rid of it…it highjacks my browser and disables my reg edit and task manager.. I have run spy bot search and destroy and it disables it for a min and then it disables my task manger again.. any help would be appreciated…

Be sure to keep SunJava, updated

In Add/Remove programs click on these and press *remove* if listed:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 - 97.99Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2 - 143.00Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 - 144.00Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5- 151.00Mb
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_04 - 130.00Mb
Or any other outdated J2SE


It is important to remove older versions as these are the ones with the holes in them. You will be surprised when you go to add/remove to see all of the versions sitting there.

This is after updating java and running atf

the system on reboot was very slow.. Right now It doesnt seem to be hijacking my home page.. When rebooted it did look for file lsass.exe

I would like to see a copy of the file in bold.

Click start / then my computer / local disk then follow the process tree.
Or using Windows Explorer, locate the first file you want to zip.
Right click on the file and select Send To and Compressed (zipped) Folder.
This makes a copy it does not delete it.
Please zip the file and upload it here

Not to sure about this program Anti-Hijacker I will try to test it later but for now can you remove it in add and remove programs. There are other programs like spybot's teatimer that I know work.

ok first off thanks for all your assistance so far its much appreciated…

I deleted the super antispyware program and have set up teatimer…
then i ran another avg scan and this is the log from that .<1 wrm in that scan>.and also i have another hijackthis scan.. Is this type of worm something i have to worry about when it comes to accessing secure accounts that i have passwords online? System seems pretty stable right now…

Everything looks fine. :thumbup: One of the best features of Windows XP is the System Restore option, however if a virus or spyware infection. There can be backups made in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after a virus or spyware removal. To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account. 1. Turn off System Restore. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer. Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. Check Turn off System Restore. Click Apply, and then click OK. 2. Reboot. 3. Turn ON System Restore. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer. Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*. Click Apply, and then click OK.

hi, i have the tab for system restore but when i go into the tab the system restore check box is not highlighted and says disabled by group policy…i tried to run mmc? and had no luck with that..
