Got a big mess from MySpace. I'm pasting on the hijack this log. I see one BHO that needs to go, but repeated attemps won't make it happen. Any help anyone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated. My antivirus and anti spyware tells me the problem is there, but won't remove it.

I seem to hae killed both the pop ups and the hijacked home page. Thanks to HJT for the program. Not sure how much residue is left inside my computer from all this. Virus and spyware programs say I'm clean. Steve
Hey Ho,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Here's what I've done that seems to have worked:
There was a BHO that linked to an active x video folder in my program files.
In order to kill that I had to delete on reboot everything in that folder especially the dhl, isadd.dhl
I also deleted two of the #20 things. winlogon notify igfxcui-c windows system 32 igfxsrvc.dll
and win log on bla bla bla wgalogon.dll (I'm not too sure if I should have eliminated that one)
Once everything in the program files folder was dead I was able to delete the BHO
Here's my current log.
Thanks for the help.
Steve

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. It will create a file named:
c:\rapport.txt

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:
C:\rapport.txt
Hi, Thanks for the info. I restored the two files you suggested. I'll have to get to the rest of your suggestions later on this week end. Thanks for all the help. Steve
Hey Ho, Sorry it has been so long to get back on this. Life intervenes. Anyway, I've done as you have suggested and downloaded both Smithfraudfix and the AGV antivirus. I've run the smithfraudfix and am standing by for the AGV. Thanks again for the help. Running the Clean

Warning: running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.
______________________________

Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.

[external image: Posted Image]

The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Hey Ho, Got through the Smitfraudfix. Computer did not reboot on it's own. I restarted it in safe mode. I was able to delete temporary internet files under the general tab. There was no DELETE ALL OFFLINE CONTENT check box to be found. I was able to delete the cookies under temporary internet files Under Programs tab, there was no RESET WEB SETTINGS option. The closest thing I could find was under the advanced tab, a RESET INTERNET EXPLORER SETTINGS button. I stopped right there and did nothing as I need some conformation. It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Hey Ho again,
I went to control panel and found Attune 2.3.2 in the add remove programs. Hit remove and a box came up saying something about configuring, and then a few moments later another small box with "fatal error durring installation. I went to start>all programs and found Aveo, but it wouldn't start. Also no file or folder for Aveo in C:\program files.
As I recall I did some battle with Attune a while back. I may have messed it up just enough to keep me from being able to really take it out.

Did the ATF cleaner without any problems

Boot up seems a little slow, as you noted. It's been slow since I loaded the thing up with anti spyware and anti virus stuff. The little glitches that have been cropping up lately seem to have abated. Smoother operation. Might just be my imagination, not sure.
Here's the latest log.
Thanks,
Steve
