Hi. I've been having trouble with search engine redirects for the past few days. AVG said I had a trojan but I thought it was removed. Still having problems. I ran AVG again, Adaware and Spybot search and destroy, all in safe mode. Still problems. Here is my hijack this log.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log.

Run HijackThis
Click on do a system scan only
Place a checkmark next to these lines(if still present)

O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.84 85.255.112.198
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.84 85.255.112.198
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.84 85.255.112.198

Then close all windows except Hijackthis and click Fix Checked

Please download F-Secure Blacklight (blbeta.exe) and save to your C:\ drive.
1. Open a command window by going to Start > Run and typing: cmd
2. Copy/paste or type the following in the command window:

C:\blbeta.exe /expert

3. Hit "Enter" to start the program and then close the cmd box.
4. Accept the user agreement and click "Next".
5 Click "Scan".
6. After the scan is complete, click "Next", then "Exit". BlackLight will create a log in C:\ drive named "fsbl-xxxxxxx.log" (the xxxxxxx will be the date and time of the scan).
7. The log will have a list of all items found. Do not choose to rename any yet! I want to see the log first because legitimate items can also be present…like "wbemtest.exe".
8. Exit Blacklight and post the contents of the log in your next reply.

Note: If you download Blacklight to your desktop, just double-click to run from there and it will create the "fsbl-xxxxxxx.log" on your desktop.

Go here to run an online scannner from Kaspersky.
  • Click on "Kaspersky Online Scanner"
  • A new smaller window will pop up. Press on "Accept". After reading the contents.
  • Now Kaspersky will update the anti-virus database. Let it run.
  • Click on "Next">"Scan Settings", and make sure the database is set to "extended". And check both the scan options. Then click OK.
  • Then click on "My Computer", and the scan will start.
  • Once finished, save the log as "KAV.txt" to the desktop.
Post back with the Blacklight log, the Kaspersky log and a new HijackThis log

Here's the blacklight log. I couldn't get the Kaspersky to work. It kept wanting to download activex and when I clicked yes, it just kept going back out, so I'll wait for further instructions. Here is the blacklight log. 02/08/07 17:00:48 [Info]: BlackLight Engine 1.0.55 initialized 02/08/07 17:00:48 [Info]: OS: 5.1 build 2600 (Service Pack 2) 02/08/07 17:00:48 [Note]: 7019 4 02/08/07 17:00:48 [Note]: 7005 0 02/08/07 17:00:55 [Note]: 7006 0 02/08/07 17:00:55 [Note]: 7022 0 02/08/07 17:00:55 [Note]: 7011 268 02/08/07 17:00:55 [Note]: 7026 0 02/08/07 17:00:56 [Note]: 7026 0 02/08/07 17:01:23 [Note]: FSRAW library version 1.7.1021 02/08/07 17:02:05 [Note]: 7007 0
I got Kaspersky to work, but the log was huge because I don't know my daughters password to get on her desktop and delete her temp files and cookies. So here is the end part of the log that tells about the trojans. I hope that helps. :(
