I keep getting this really annoying error that messes up my task bar when it comes up. svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been created.. it comes up in 1-2 minuted intervals. and very annoying.
well this kind of stuff allways happens to my computer. :S hmm. if i only i knew what that was.. it has stopped for now but if any thing else occurs like this. i will notify you in this thread. Thank you.
ok im getting this again.. for future reference i would like to know what is causing this coming up. svchost.exe has generated errors, and wil not be shut down by windows …. etc. it also, turns it into "windows classic" theme, and doesnt show up the "windows XP" theme selection.. this will probably go away in a minute, but this is just rediculous. it comes up when it feels like it, im sick of it. while writing that, i just got 9 error messages (another just then). Thank you in advance.
Hi Lochy, Error messages come in all kinds of sizes, shapes, colors, and most specifically…number/letter codes. Please copy down the exact error message and print it here for further investigation. If you are actually not getting any additional specific information at the time of the error, then please go to your Event Viewer. Look especially for "events" that have RED warnings. "Events" are dated with time notation, so that you can focus your investigation to the specific "time" of the event related to the annoying "error message". You will also notice that "events" are of three catagories: Application, Security, System. Please take a look in all three catagories at about the time you receive the "error message". Post back with that additional information so that we can be of more help to you. Best Regards
Hi dough, First where is event viewer located? error message: svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
To open Event Viewer:
1. Click Start
then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance,
then click Administrative Tools,
then double-click Computer Management.

2. In the console tree, click Event Viewer.

The Application, Security, and System logs are displayed in the Event Viewer window.

this one i think..

ive got heaps of errors too.. -.-

WinMgmt could not initialize the core parts. This could be due to a badly installed version of WinMgmt, WinMgmt repository upgrade failure, insufficient disk space or insufficient memory.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
"heaps of errors" is not good.

The identified problem can result from result from any of the following, in the likely order that is listed:

1. Virus/trojan infection - Run your resident virus and spyware scans allowing corrections, then run an online scan or two……. Panda Online Scan, Housecall from TrendMicro, or Symantec Online.
For Expert Assistance - Run HJT and Post your Log over in our Malware Removal Forum

2. Corrupted Operating System file(s) - Run System File Checker - Start - Run -(type)sfc /scannow

3. Failed update/patch from Microsoft - Go to Microsoft Updates and allow the automated scan to determine what critical upadates and patches your system may need.

4. Failure/corruption of files related to creation of WinMgmt and WinMgmt repository.
The repair for this is laid out step-by-step in this Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/e…t&LCID=1033

Note: Since (something) "caused" the WinMgmt related error, I would recommend that you perform recommendations #1, #2, and #3, before moving on to #4.

Keep us posted with your progress.

Best Regards

Faulting application svchost.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

thats the right error

SORRY dough.
I do remember that you recently did receive the instructions and link from Ax to setup for running SFC using the full i386 folder.

Will you please run SFC again at this time? (running SFC will often clear up the problem)
It is "non-destructive" (meaning that it won't cause you any additional problems) and only takes about 20 minutes to run unattended. (unattended, meaning, just let it start and watch it run its course, or walk away until its finished)
Please let us know how the SFC run goes. It will probably just run automatically and so quickly that it's hard to follow, but you may notice if it identifies and replaces some OS files.
____________

The error type that you are receiving can also be caused by:

RAM memory faults
Over-heating
unregistered .dll(s)
Corrupted Hosts file

_______________

In Event Viewer - Application …… Do you see any references to your Ipod at the times of the svchost.exe problem? (are you running your Ipod when the problem occurs?)
_______________

Have you blown out the dust bunnies with compressed air to insure good cooling air circulation?
______________

Maybe we would see some useful information in a PCPitstop Full Test.
Please go to http://www.PCPitstop.com
Run the Full Tests and Post the TechExpress Link back into this thread.
(I think you've done the Full Tests before, but if you need any additional information about running and posting it, just ask)

If we don't identify anything there, we can go on to address Hosts File, using "Hoster" (also a safe procedure, but you would have to update SpywareBlaster freshly, if you use that utility - recommended)

Frequent svchost.exe errors popping up must be very annoying.
Keep us posted with your progress.

Best Regards
Thanks dough for that, yeah ax did get me to run the sfc. It has, once again, stopped and i have sound back. But im sure that this will not be the last of it. i will blow the dust out. and Unconnect my ipod(which WAS connected), and see if anything changes. Thanks.
Thanks for getting back to us so promptly. I also remember the hassle you were having with Ipod. The memory fault 0x000000 part can be related to failures of peripherals that need to "sync". I'm not very familiar with using Ipod, but will research a bit. Let us know how the SFC goes. And post a fresh PCPitstop Full Tests Link. We'll take another look from there. It's quite late here on the California Pacific Coast, so I'll check back in later tomorrow (actually today).
