Hi godsmack,

What type of issues are you having? I'm not seeing anything malicious in your log at this time.

One thing I am seeing is there have been no updates done to this computer, not even to SP1. Is there a reason for this?

Dave
hi Dave, Thank you for an immediate response, actually i read your first message last week but i got lots of workload and task so i skip making a reply from your feedback…im just curious about this forum so i try copy paste may hijackthis logfile for any suggestions, and it is good to know, from your side, that there's no sign of any malicious threats in my stuff. i also try spybot S & D and ADware personal…it helps a lot….is AVAST anti-virus is better than AVG? Thank You, Tripp
Hi Tripp,

..is AVAST anti-virus is better than AVG?

You will get a different opinion from everyone on which AV is best. I switched my 2 main PC's over to Avast from AVG a few months ago. I like the Avast interface better and I think it's a little more robust than AVG as far as security goes. They both use about the same resources also…so it's up to you.

For you though while an AV is needed the fact that you had no updates is much more critical. Here is my "speech" on this. I would recommend updating as soon as possible if you haven't already. Good luck:

It is crucial to update to Service Pack 2, it is probably the most important update the Microsoft has ever put out for WinXP and you are extremely vulnerable without it, Service Pack 2 significantly increases the security on your computer. I recommend that you do this update as soon as possible.

Please update your computer then post back with how it went. If you have any problems please post back with as much detail as you can. This is needed because any problems updating to SP2 could indicate that there is still some infection on your system that we need to address.

As it says above, if Malware is present XP doesn't always like updating to SP2. If you have problems let me know if you need help.

Regards,
Dave
