Hi makakilo and welcome to the forums here at Tom Coyote.

You appear to have some adware, ect…noteably Fastfind. You also have a couple of items that I would recommend removing also (reasons given below). The other main thing I have noticed is that you have not updated to Service Pack 2. SP2 has been out for sometime and being this far behind leaves you extrememly vulnerable to infections. It is important to do this update but let's wait until we get things cleaned up. Malware present can inhibit the update to SP2 (maybe that's why you haven't yet?).

I see that Viewpoint is installed. Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player are Viewpoint components which are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting Disable auto‑updating for the Viewpoint Manager ‑‑ the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Read what Viewpoint says and make your own decision.

To provide a satisfying consumer experience and to operate effectively, the Viewpoint Media Player periodically sends information to servers at Viewpoint. Each installation of the Viewpoint Media Player is identifiable to Viewpoint via a Customer Unique Identifier (CUID), an alphanumeric identifier embedded in the Viewpoint Media Player. The Viewpoint Media Player randomly generates the CUID during installation and uses it to indicate a unique installation of the product. A CUID is never connected to a user's name, email address, or other personal contact information. CUIDs are used for the sole purpose of filtering redundant information. Each of these information exchanges occurs anonymously.

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware.
I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself. To uninstall the the Viewpoint components (Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player):
  • Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  • In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  • In Add or Remove Programs, highlight >>Viewpoint component<< , click Remove.
  • Do the same for each Viewpoint component.
I would also recommend removing the Neopets toolbar. I don't have much information on this toolbar but I would consider it at least to be an optional fix. If it is something you need or use by all means keep it. If not there are plenty of other great toolbars out there that will not put your computer at any risk.

Run HijackThis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O2 - BHO: Scriptlet.Tools - {3E4563A4-2A9B-4912-BE38-906A0CB702CC} - C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\Tools\tools.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [\tools.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\Tools\tools.exe

If you decided to remove Viewpoint then this can also be fixed with HJT.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

If you decided to remove the Neopets toolbar then these can also be fixed:

O2 - BHO: Neopets - {CD292324-974F-4224-D074-CACA427AA030} - C:\PROGRA~1\Neopets\Toolbar\Toolbar.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Neopets - {CD292324-974F-4224-D074-CACA427AA030} - C:\PROGRA~1\Neopets\Toolbar\Toolbar.dll

Then close all windows except this one and press Fix checked.

Using Windows Explorer delete the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Tools<–Folder

Now reboot and I would like you to run a couple of scans.

1. Download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program. The program can still be used after 30 days but loses some of the features such as real time scanning.
  • Load AVG Anti-Spyware and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Then click on the Scanner tab at the top. Click the "Settings" tab and then change the recommended action to Quarantine and click Automatically generate report after every scan. Click back to the "Scan" tab and then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run, so be prepared.
  • AVG Anti-Spyware will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. AVG Anti-Spyware will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
  • Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).
  • Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot!

2. Using Internet Explorer, click on Kaspersky Online Scanner * You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click 'Yes'.
* The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
* Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click 'Next'.
* Now click on 'Scan Settings'
* In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database: 'Extended' (If available, otherwise 'Standard')
o Scan Options: 'Scan Archives' and 'Scan Mail Bases'
* Click 'OK'
* Now under 'Select a target to scan' select 'My Computer'
* The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete, it will display whether your system has been infected.
* Now click on the 'Save as Text' button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Please post the Kaspersky report, the AVG scan report, and a new HijackThis log. Also let me know how things are running at this point.

Regards,
Dave
