Hi saadamsand welcome to Tom Coyote forums

I am currently looking over your log. As I am an Undergraduate, everything that I post to you must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a potential fix.

Thanks for your patience!
dan
Hi saadams

Please note that HJT is running from a temp folder
You currently are running HijackThis from here: C:\Documents and Settings\lowens.COILHOLDINGS\Local Settings\Temp\wz84d9\HijackThis.exe

Please Create a new folder either here:
C:\ or create a folder on your desktop and call it this folder HJT and place "HijackThis.exe" in that folder.

DO NOT follow the steps below until you have moved HijackThis

__________________

Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

[external image: Posted Image]

5. Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Please include new HJT log,
in your next post
Thanks dan
I was unable to do the Save List function. Clicking the save List button would cause nothing to happen. I also tried a reboot and still no luck. I have attached the latest HJT Log.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Hi saadams

We may have some files that are hiding from us, I'm going to try and flush them out.

Please go to the C:\Program Files\HijackThis folder. Right click on the HijackThis.exe file and select "Rename". Rename it removal.exe,

Then run HijackThis again and post a new log please.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Thanks dan
Dan,
After renaming the HijackThis.exe file to removal.exe I was able to do the savelist funtion of the uninstall manager. I had previously run the vundofix tool that I downloaded from Symantec.com. It did not seem to fix as much as the new Vundofix.exe tool that I downloaded from you. I have sent you the latest Hijackthis log, Save List log from the Uninstall manager and the Vundofix log.

I truly appreciate all of your help!

saadams
