K-Lite - ( This came with subscription music program, suppose to be codecs to improve videos' & DVDs'
quality output.)

360Share Pro - (I just subscribed to this music program, used a lot for the time I've had it.) Know anything
about it? Original name started out as "NetFreeMP3", It downloaded as 360Share Pro.

Rhapsody - (Probably don't need both of these,. Was trying them out to see if I wanted to
Rhapsody2- subcribe to them and I use their real player because some videos use it for playback)

Navigated to the WindowsUpdate folder there was nothing in it. (No "wuhistv3.log".)

Next, went to control panel, opened add/remove programs, "WA6P" was not listed, as well as
C:\WINNT\system32\mi2.exe
Mi2.chm; Mi2htm;Mi2wmv.

Ran file and folder search and found file "mi2.exe", deleted it. The other 3 similar files didn't come up.
Found "WA6P" with another folder inside it named "QUOR", deleted them both, nothing in them.

Found folder WinAntiVirus Pro2006, nothing in it, deleted that also. Rebooted and "copy/paste" the following new "HijackThis Log".

My computer seems to be running ok. Will keep an eye on it . Oh yeah, WinAntiVirus Pro2006 icon still
sitting in control panel.

Doubleclick combo.exe Follow the prompts. Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang. When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt.

WinAntiVirus Pro2006 icon still sitting in control panel.

Can you right click on it and delete it?
If not, when you right click on it and select Properties, what does it list?
Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Click "Start"> "Run"> type in Regedit tap Enter Key

Make sure "My Computer" is highlighted

Click "Edit"> "Find"
Type in WinAntiVirus Pro2006 tap Enter Key.
Right Click on the file if found and select "Delete"

Tap the "F3" Key to find the next entry of the file. Continue using the "F3" Key until it's finished searching.

Close Regedit.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and let me know how it went.
It doesn't appear to be much change LDT. Downloaded "ERUNT and backed uped registry. Ran "Regedit" with "My computer" highlighted and typed Winantivirus pro2006 in the find box. Register search returned no results. Tapped F3 key 3 different times, each time it returned no results. Situation still the same right now except for one thing, before I rebooted my computer I noticed a different icon on my desktop for AVG spyware, when I rebooted the original Icon for AVG returned. I lost my shortcut icon for Trend Micro antivirus program completely a few days ago. Didn't think much about it then. Anyway whats next? :wall:
try Alt/Ctrl/Del and see if it's listed in Applications and Processes. If so, click on it and select End Process. Now see if the Icon will delete. Also look in Msconfig: click Start> Run> type in Msconfig tap enter key. look in the Startup. If listed, look to see where the location is and go to the location and delete the file/folder where it's running from.
No sign of "winantiviruspro 2006" listed in Applications and Processes or in the Startup.

Also ran "Msconfig" but received an error message stating, "can not find the file Msconfig ( or one of its

components) Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available. :wtf:

What's next?
OK, downloaded "msconfig" and saved to C:\winnt\system32 folder. Ran "msconfig", opened startup menu but did not see "winantivirus pro2006" listed anywhere.
Only thing I can think of to try is: Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen. Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter. This can take several miniutes to load. Login as administrator If you've never set a password for administrator leave it blank See if you can delete the icon now.
Sorry for the delay. Been busy for awhile. I followed your instructions and rebooted my computer in safe mode but could not delete icon that way either. But, everything else seems to be operating OK. Got rid of those false security alert popups and I can not find any traces of "Winantivirus Pro2006" in my files or folders. I can live with just the icon in the control panel for right now. I've been running my anti-virus and spyware programs which have reported nothing except for a few negligible cookies.  Appreciate your time and expertise. If you think of anything else let me know.
