Hello, I can paste it here, but it is actually the most massive log I have ever seen,

The wpfind log will look large.. The gmer log shouldn't be to awful big. Be sure NOT TO CLICK "SHOW ALL"
The WinPFind log is tiny compared to the Gmer log! I didn't click show all, but I will run it again, just to make sure! The Gmer log would actually take me 30-45 mins to paste
Hi again, I did the Gmer scan again, and it's still very large. I did make sure I clicked Rootkit and did not check off "Show All". I put it on Microsoft Word and it was 1,212 pages long . The first scan was longer at 1,487 pages long. Still want me to post it? :P I also noticed that 90% of the log are text files from Msn Messenger Service, but on the first scan, they were all from Internet Explorer.
NOOOOOO!! don't post that.. I have an appointment next october

Place the wpfind log up for me.

Try this rootkit scanner.

Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop:

  • Doubleclick on blbeta.exe.
  • Click on Scan.
  • Once the Scan is Finished, click on Next.
  • Click on Exit.
A new document will be produced on the desktop.
    Open this document with Notepad.
  • Copy and Paste its contents your next reply.
Post the Wpfind log and the Black light scan.
Hahaha that's what I thought :) It was just a little long.

Alright, here's what you asked for! The Blacklight log is alot smaller :)

OK that all looks good. I have to say we have raised some eye brows with your 1200 page gmer log.
Heres what I would like you to do.

Please go register at this site.
http://www.malwareremoval.net/phpbb3b4

Create a post in test 1.. Call it big gmer log.
in the topic just type in for Bob4.

on the bottom of the page you will see file name and file comment. Choose browse and navigate to that massive log and send it there.
If you can zip it up first that would be great. If not just send it as is.
Hello :) I tried to submit it, I put it in a compressed zipped folder and the website told me it was too big to submit! It said the file has to be 256 KB and the file I'm submitting is 443 KB :P I could split it up though if you would like.
Okay, just kidding, I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but I pasted it in Notepad from Microsoft Word and now you can read it!
Hmm, now my computer just shut down and told me that my system was FAT32 and that one of my disks needed to be checked for consistency. I have no idea what that means. Is that bad?
Well it's never good when your system shuts down by itself. When you restarted did scan disk ask if it wanted to run? If so did you let it? If no to both maybe you had better run a full scan for this. 1. Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk that you want to check. 2. Click Properties, and then click Tools. 3. Under Error-checking, click Check Now. A dialog box that shows the Check disk options is displayed, check both of them. Windowes will ask you that a reboot is required. This may take a while so do it when you won't need the computer for a while. How many users are on this machine? Do the other users if any have locked attributes. In other words do they files you can't see while your logged in with your name ?
Hi, yeah it sort of gave me a countdown and said that F:\ or something needed to be checked? And I said no. And yes there are 3 other users besides myself on this computer and no one has anything locked, I can pretty much see everything in their files.
Thanks for getting that log to me. That was a scan to see if a rootkit was present which it doesn't appear to be. As far as the scan disk wanting to check "F" drive. That must be either a second hard drive or a usb flash device ? Let me know. In any case it isn't your "C" drive which is where your running windows from.
Will take a look at 1 more log to see if I can find anything. But thus far you do not seem to be infected by Malware.

Silent Runners
Please download Silent Runners from here and save it to your Desktop.
Double-click the Silent Runners icon on your desktop.

You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not finished yet! Let it run - it won't appear to be doing anything.

Once you receive the prompt All Done!, double-click the new text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
NOTE If you receive any warning message about scripts from your anti Virus program, please choose to allow the script to run.

Post that log for me.
Here's the log

Back up the registry
_________________________________
Go to Start > Run
Type:regedit
Click OK.
  • On the leftside, click to highlight My Computer at the top.
  • Go up to "File > Export"
    • Make sure in that window there is a tick next to "All" under Export Branch.
Leave the "Save As Type" as "Registration Files".
      Under "Filename" put backup
  • Choose to save it to C:\ or somewhere else safe so that you will remember where you put it (don't put it on the desktop!)
  • Click save and then go to File > Exit.
This is so the registry can be restored to this point if we need it. It may take a minute. Just let it go until it's done.

This wasn't malware but left over entries from spyware sweeper. I can't see anything in any of the logs to suggest malware is an issue.

I'm sorry Madison8 it doesn't look as if this issue is malware related. Thus leaving my area of expertise.

If you have a windows XP cd you can try this.

Place the cd in the drive and exit the window that opens promting you to install windows.

Click start/run and type in exactly sfc /scannow This will check for corrupt and missing files that are important to the proper running of windows.
Hers a link to instructions on how to use this. It may also answer any questions you have on using this tool.

Hers a couple of other links to forums that may be able to help you with this problem from people more qualified for this sort of problem. Im sorry I wasn't of more help.

Alrighty, everything's done! Thank you soo much for all your help, I really appreciate it! You did help me clean lots of things out, so I do thank you for that. :) I'm wondering if I maybe need to get a new computer. This one is a few years old and we just had it fixed because of a RAM problem about 4 months ago, and for some reason now it is a little slower and the CD burner suddenly doesn't work anymore I've come to discover? :P Anyways, I do thank you again for all your time and help! ( And for taking a look at my 1,200-1,500 page Gmer logs) :)
