You have an entry in your log that points to a file on your PC that I would like to have checked - if it is still present.

Please go to Jotti's and click on the Browse… button at the top and navigate to the following file and then click on Submit:

When all the scans have been completed, please copy and paste the results into your next reply.

If this site is busy, try VirusTotal: Click the Browse … button at the top, navigate to the file and double click it and then click the Send button.

Rename your copy of hijackthis.exe to seek.exe and post a fresh log run in Normal Mode. It's possible that a nasty is interfering with the normal working of HJT in order to hide itself and renaming the .exe will get around this.
I don't know wheter renaming the icon on the desktop to seek is equal to renaming the copy of hijackthis.exe to seek.exe since i don't really know where to rename the hijackthis.exe to seek.exe… And for your info, there is a weird icon keeps on poping up, and i have already send a post to this url and was being adviced that i should post a log to this HijackThis Logs and Spyware/Malware Removal section
(The topic can be found here:)
(hXXp://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showtopic=74077&view=getnewpost)

and this is the fresh log after i rename the icon on the desktop of hijackthis to seek (the log is still named hijackthis)

You are running HJT from an unsafe location. An easy way to correct this is to do the following:

Download a copy of HJTsetup.exe from here and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click HJTsetup.exe to begin installation.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box uncheck the box to the left of "Launch Hijackthis" and then click Finish
Do this BEFORE you proceed!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will need to make a copy of these instructions because you have to disconnect from the internet to complete the fix. Either print them out or copy and paste them into Notepad.
Preparation
1) Download the trial version of AVG Anti-Spyware from here and save it to your Desktop.
If you already have this program installed, skip to Updating AVG Anti-Spyware: below.
* Please note that this program was formerly known as Ewido anti-spyware 4.0.
Taken from the Ewido website -
ewido anti-spyware 4.0 will now continue under the new product name AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5. AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 contains the same ewido technology, but with some further enhanced features:
Highly improved cleaning
Lower resource usage
Additional languages supported
All current licenses for ewido anti-spyware 4.0 will continue to be valid, and users can change over to the new AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 for free.
Double click the avgas-setup file to begin installation and follow the prompts.
When the program has been installed, and you click the Finish button, AVG A-S will open.
  • Updating AVG Anti-Spyware:
    By default AVG A-S is configured to update automatically so, if you have an active internet connection, it should do so following installation. If you are unsure whether or not it has done so, do the following:
  • Click the Update icon at the top and under "Manual Update" - click the Start update button.
  • Either AVG A-S will update or inform you that no update was available.
  • If you cannot access the internet with the infected PC, or you are having problems updating, you can download the signatures file from here.
    Once you have installed AVG A-S, double click avgas-signatures-full-current.exe to update it.
    Disabling the Resident Shield:
  • By default the Resident Shield is active but as it may interfere with the process of cleaning your PC, it will need to be disabled.
    (When the PC has been cleaned you can activate the shield again, if you wish.)
  • Click the Shield icon at the top and under "Resident shield is…" - click active.
  • This should now change to inactive.
    Changing Recommended Actions
  • Click the Scanner icon at the top and then click the Settings Tab.
  • Under "How to act?" click Recommended actions and select "Quarantine" from the menu.
You can now close AVG A-S.
AVG A-S is designed to be used to both scan for and remove malicious files and also to run in real-time alongside, but not replace, your existing anti-virus program to give an added layer of protection.
Both the Resident Shield and Automatic Updates will only be available for the thirty day trial period, after that Ewido will revert to a stand-alone scanner which you can keep and manually update for free and use in a similar way to Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot S&D etc.
Should you wish to benefit from the real-time protection, you will need to upgrade the program. To do this, simply open it and click on the Buy now button.
2) You will need to know how to boot into Safe Mode.
Instructions can be found here.
3) You will need to set Windows to show All Hidden Files and Folders
Instructions can be found here.
** These files are hidden to stop you accidentally removing something important.
It is advisable to hide them again after fixing your computer. **
4) Copy and paste the following bold text into Notepad (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad):
%systemdrive%
cd C:\WINDOWS\Tasks
attrib -r -s -h A4846CED91A7E791.job
del A4846CED91A7E791.job
Save it to your Desktop with the following properties:
File Name: remjob.bat
File Type: All Files
5) Log off from the internet and disconnect your modem cable for the duration of the fix.
Removal
1) Run HJT and click on Open the Misc Tools section.
Click on delete a file on reboot…
Copy and paste the following into the "File name:" text box and then click Open:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winrkp32.dll
When you are asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?", click OK.
Your PC MUST reboot to delete the file!
2) Run HijackThis as you did to generate a log, but this time click on 'Do a system scan only'.
Place a checkmark in the boxes to the left of the following entries, by clicking on them:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winrkp32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winrkp32.dll
CLOSE ALL OPEN WINDOWS AND BROWSERS - EXCEPT HJT and click on Fix checked
3) Boot into Safe Mode.
4) Navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder and delete all the files that you find there.
Do this for all Usernames.
5) Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp and delete all the files that you find there.
Do this for all Usernames.
6) Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options.
For I.E. 6 - under Temporary Internet files, click on Delete Files…
Check the box to the left of 'Delete all offline content' and then click on OK.
For I.E. 7 - under Browsing History, click delete…
Under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete files…
7) Ensure that ALL open Windows / Programs / Folders are closed and then run AVG A-S.
  • If it is not already selected, click the Scanner icon at the top and then select the Scan Tab.
  • Click "Complete System Scan"
  • While the scan is in progress the PC should be left otherwise idle - so if you fancy a cuppa, now's the time to put the kettle on!
  • When the scan has completed, any threats that AVG A-S has detected will be displayed.
  • Click the Apply all actions button at the bottom.
  • When AVG A-S has finished, it will display the message "All actions have been applied".
    Saving a report:
  • Click the Save Report button at the bottom left and the "Reports" window will open.
  • The content of the scan report will be displayed in the right hand pane and a copy will be automatically saved as Report-Scan-date-time.txt into the C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\Reports folder.
  • You will need to post a copy of this report into your next reply, so if it is more convenient, you can save another copy of this report elsewhere:
    Click the Save report as button and select a destination by clicking the down arrow to the right of the Save in: text box and then click Save.
Close AVG A-S.
8) Remove any/all of the following files/folders that you can find:
Folders
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comp Open Support Close
C:\DOCUME~1\Alex\APPLIC~1\ELSEPL~1
* The tilde(~) in either a file or folder name indicates that this name is longer than six characters and these have been replaced by the tilde for brevity. E.G. C:\PROGRA~1 = C:\Program Files
The first file, or folder, that uses these particular six letters gets the suffix ~1, the next ~2 and so on.
You will need to locate and delete the folder that has this file in it: AXISNEW.exe.
If AVG A-S gets to the file first, which it may, don't worry about the folder unless you can positively identify it - you don't want to remove a legitimate one!
As an example:
To delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\foldertogo
Double click the My Computer icon on your Desktop.
Double click on Local Disc (C:)
Double click on the Windows folder,
Double click on the System 32 folder,
Right click on foldertogo and from the menu that appears, click on 'Delete'
9) Boot into Normal Mode.
10) Locate and double click remjob.bat.
Post a new HJT log, the AVG A-S log AND a description of how your PC is running.
I have a problem with the download of hjtsetup.exe i cant seems to be downloaded by the download program that i used( flashget version 1.73 build 128) and i don't know how to download it by the other ways. So would mind to show how to download it??? or can you pls post another link that is downloadable by FLashget? THanks. And because of THe downloading problem i have skipped the step and I downloaded avg antispyware and done the step number 4) Copy and paste the following bold text into Notepad (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad): %systemdrive% cd C:\WINDOWS\Tasks attrib -r -s -h A4846CED91A7E791.job del A4846CED91A7E791.job
and before i forget. I've already have windows defender, norton antivirus, ad-aware se personal. As anti spyware SYStem and will it affect working of avg anti- spyware PRogram?? by The way i have retried the dowNload for 71 times and error always occured and says connection cannot be established
As anti spyware SYStem and will it affect working of avg anti- spyware PRogram??
If you are asking if there are any problems with installing AVG Anti-Spyware alongside the programs you already have, the answer should be No.
You cannot guarantee that there will never be conflictions with a group of programs, but I use AVG A-S in most logs that I work and have never come across any issues with it.
The HJT link doesn't work for me either - the server must be down.
HJT needs to be run from a "safe location" as using it creates backup-ups that can be used to restore items if, for example, the wrong items are fixed.
While I prefer to have it way from the Desktop to protect it from "lazy finger" when dragging it around near the Recycle Bin, it can be run from there, as long as it is placed in a folder.
Stick the copy of hijackthis.exe that you have on your Desktop in a folder and then follow the instructions in my previous post and post accordingly.
I have done most of the things you want me to do. I've created a folder on my desktop and named it sniper, I have place the hjt icon into that folder, besides the icon i have also place the hjt logs in it report scan and backup files too. i hope i am doin the right thing. The only problem is i couldn't find the FOLDERTOGO. and i can i uninstall the avg anti spyware program after this?? and there is a file with AXISNEW.exe-149274BB.pf and other stuff should i deleted the whole file? It seems there is other important stuff in it (C:WINDOWS\prefetch)
My laptop now currently is running a bit slow and the weird system error icon did not appear in my icon tray, by the way my windows task manager weird( which can only end processes instead of ending program) this happen when the system error icon start to show.
The only problem is i couldn't find the FOLDERTOGO.
As an example:
To delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\foldertogo
Double click the My Computer icon on your Desktop.
Double click on Local Disc (C:)
Double click on the Windows folder,
Double click on the System 32 folder,
Right click on foldertogo and from the menu that appears, click on 'Delete'
The above is simply an example and isn't meant to be taken as instructions to delete a specific file.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

can i uninstall the avg anti spyware program after this??

If you wish.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
by the way my windows task manager weird( which can only end processes instead of ending program) this happen when the system error icon start to show.
Part way through this thread you tell me that you have posted about this problem elsewhere on this forum and you gave more information in that thread than this one and now you tell me that you have had a problem with Task Manager for a while.
It doesn't help the cleaning of your computer if you don't give me the full facts at the start.
there is a file with AXISNEW.exe-149274BB.pf and other stuff should i deleted the whole file?
It seems there is other important stuff in it (C:WINDOWS\prefetch)
I don't know what you are refering to, so I can't give you an answer.
Tell me exactly what you are talking about and i'll see if I can come up with a solution.
sorry for the inconviniece i was just curious and ask bout the task manager. so now the problem is i have found the file AXISNEW.exe-149274BB.pf in the folder (C:WINDOWS\prefetch) by using the search in the start menu bar. Should i delete the whole folder? All the files in the folder is PF File type. Should i delete them? My laptop now currently is running much more slower. and i couldn't seems to connect to internet… and now i am posting from the internet cafe. (for your info) i will not turn on my laptop and i will not be able to reply the post for 4 days because i am going to a trip… sorry for all the mess. :P
The prefetch folder is a legitimate Windows folder. Its purpose is to store links to the files that you use most often to enable them to be accessible more quickly. You can delete files from there but Do Not remove the folder itself.
1) Download SmitfraudFix.exeby S!Ri from here and save it to your Desktop.
2) Double click SmitfraudFix.exe - this will open a Command Window and also create the SmitfraudFix folder on your Desktop. Once you have read the information, "press any key to continue…"
Press "1" and then to start the search process.
When the search has completed, a text file, rapport.txt, will open with the results in - Copy and paste this report into your next reply.
A copy of the report can be found in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed.
For most, this file can be found by double-clicking My Computer and then Local Disk (C:)
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!
Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc…processutil.htm
You can download the file on another PC and transfer it via disc or flashdrive.
This is the log u asked me to post. Do i need to post the fresh HJT logs even i am not asked to do so?
    By default AVG A-S is configured to update automatically so, if you have an active internet connection, it should do so following installation. If you are unsure whether or not it has done so, do the following:
  • Click the Update icon at the top and under "Manual Update" - click the Start update button.
  • Either AVG A-S will update or inform you that no update was available.
  • If you cannot access the internet with the infected PC, or you are having problems updating, you can download the signatures file from here.
    Once you have installed AVG A-S, double click avgas-signatures-current.exe to update it.
    Disabling the Resident Shield:
  • By default the Resident Shield is active but as it may interfere with the process of cleaning your PC, it will need to be disabled.
    (When the PC has been cleaned you can activate the shield again, if you wish.)
  • Click the Shield icon at the top and under "Resident shield is…" - click active.
  • This should now change to inactive.
    Changing Recommended Actions
  • Click the Scanner icon at the top and then click the Settings Tab.
  • Under "How to act?" click Recommended actions and select "Quarantine" from the menu.
You can now close AVG A-S.
AVG A-S is designed to be used to both scan for and remove malicious files and also to run in real-time alongside, but not replace, your existing anti-virus program to give an added layer of protection.
Both the Resident Shield and Automatic Updates will only be available for the thirty day trial period, after that AVG A-S will revert to a stand-alone scanner which you can keep and manually update for free and use in a similar way to Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot S&D etc.
Should you wish to benefit from the real-time protection, you will need to upgrade the program. To do this, simply open it and click on the Buy now button.
