Hello and welcome to the forum

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment
Thanks for your help thus far. I was able to download that upgrade and run it. One of the things that is happening is that I had to restart explorer something like fifty times just to get to that link. The computer is very slow in general. But just dreadful in windows.

I had the Brave Sentry logo in the systray but have gotten rid of that.. Every time I try to get rid of something, it will either say that it doesn't exist or that it can't be deleted do to sharing.

Also the same few viruses show up at every login in or power up. The other things are that I cannot use the task manager and my wallpaper is gone.

Thus far I have run AVG, AVG anti-spyware, SmitRem, CCleaner and Hijackthis. Now I just have to determine which of these programs have to go. Any other thoughts would be helpful. I am currently running my computer in safe mode, isolated from the network.

Thanks again for your help, d c eddy

LD Since turning off the ICF and deleting the programs that you suggested thisng seam to be improving. My system didn't take forever to come up and I am able to get on teh internet again without having to restart explorer over and over again. Firefox actually works now, which before it didn't. I also have my task manager back. I also appear to have access to my wallpaper and active desktop again.

I'm am cautiously optimistic. Thanks once again for your help.

Here is the new Hijackthis file.

Cheers, dc eddy

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?

Thanks a whole bunch. I will see if I have those programs on my system. If not I'll look in to some of the recommendations that you have. I see some powerfully good karma coming your way. Thanks again, dce
