Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Icon for mIRC went away and everything seems fine. The softreg folder wouldnt delete until after i ran ATF cleaner, that probably doesnt matter though. Overall, its running good. Thanks for the help.

I suggest you do this:

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

You are running 2 anti-virus programs. Grisoft and McAfee. You need to uninstall one of them. Running more then one can cause all types of problems.

1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:
Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
after i uninstalled viewpoint it wasnt on the hijack this list, so that i guess isnt an issue anymore.

In your opinion, which anti-virus should i uninstall? I only have mcafee on-access scan, so it doesnt have all the perks of normal mcafee, yet many people say the free AVG is good also. im leaning towards uninstalling mcafee, since it did'nt remove the bug, let alone detect it. AVG at least detected it.

as for how its running- it seems to be running well, no different then usual. Not as fast as it used to be on log ins, but im sure thats probably my fault. Sometimes when i try to shut it down or restart is it freezes on the blue windows screen (no words). this has been happening for a while.
again, thanks for the help, heres the log:

Network Associates and McAfee are one in the same.
So if you use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall, make sure you remove all Network Associates and McAfee
programs.

After uninstall the anti-virus program:

lets see if this will help speed it up.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

NOTE: To be extra safe you can choose to only remove the items in RED.
