Please let me know if you have any questions about what I posted here.
The Mcafee program that comes with my ISP just had an update and now
every time I go anywhere I get a notice that my registry is being affected.
Please help.
I ran Adaware, Kapersky, Spybot and I think some others that are recommended.
This is my log.

lol….RELAX??? sh-sh-sh-sh-u-u-re. AaaaaND…………Really?

On some of those prog's that I ran…um….I'm thinking Kapersky…..I didn't delete anything cause I was scared to. Now it seems I have to delete programs just to get some disk space.

Why does it seem that everything has been eaten up on my C drive.
Resources waaay low.
After install of McAfee.

There are files in there I have no clue of what they are and actually it says they are from a time before this computer was actually even built. I'm wondering if I need alot of that but I just don't know where or what to delete. Files are way fragmented and I can't do a good defrag. I suppose some of those files are from when my last harddrive was imaged to this one….but I have a potential hacker/disgruntled ex-techy boyfriend that built it….so I just didn't/don't know. I never asked him for tech help when he lived here but it seems every time he left for a substantial period of time my computer all of a sudden goes caflewy.

McAfee says this 'register change beware' is new to their stuff. Boy I wish they would tell us what to expect.

I guess I got off the 'hijack this' subject….but I really didn't. Thanks for checking on it.

suz…..e
hi suzeee, dont see any malware in the log. its been awhile. your hard drive is getting full? look in add/remove programs file and uninstall anything you done use. defrag needs some empty drive space to run. you think some of the problem was caused by mcafee?(resources) its possible. ive seen some computers run better without norton for example. there sure looks like a load of mcafee services running. only way to confim it would be to uninstall the mcafee suite. there are other alternatives. shelf life

Thanks again.
I think that may be a good idea…uninstall mcafee and reinstall….i've had to do that before.
What would be the other alternatives?
The hard drive full has been happening awhile.
I've deleted programs that I even used sporatically to spare space.
It won't let me do a defrag because of space and then if I say go ahead and do it anyway….it comes up with numerous files that couldnt be defrag'd.

There is a file that is GIGANTIC (pagefile.sys) in my C drive. It says the original was put there before I got the computer and the last update was 1/11/2007.

Like I said (I think) there are numerous files when I go into MY computer and look at the c drive that I don't know what they are or when they were put there or how they got there or what they do.

Thanks so much for the help thusfar….I'd appreciate it if you would have the time to guide me a bit further.
suz…e

oh also……it won't let me go into safe mode to do any diagnostics that I maybe could think I would understand.
hi suzeee,

the other alternatives

you could uninstall mcafee and get a free antivirus application.
how big is your hard drive? double click my computer, right click on local disk C: and select properties.
you use vmware?

i can suggest ccleaner for helping to clean up temp files:

http://www.ccleaner.com/

disk defrag might run in safe mode. there are two ways to try to get into safe mode, if one dosnt work try the other:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

theres all kinds of debate about the page file, let me find out somemore.
