Hi, Welcome to TomCoyote! I'm Angelfire and it'll be my pleasure to assist you in your problem. Please hold on while I research a fix for you.
One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This type of infection allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files without your knowledge.

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever be trusted again. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?

When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall

However, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your computer and would like me to attempt to clean it, I will be happy to do so.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Should you decide to clean your machine, please follow the instructions that follow.

*First, are you running Norton Internet Security along with Trend Micro Internet Security?

*You have executed HijackThis directly from the zip file which means that the backups that it makes will not be saved. We need to extract Hijackthis.

To move Hijackthis:
  • Double-click your HijackThis.zip file and a window will open showing the HijackThis file. On the left pane, click on the link that says Extract all files.
  • The Extraction Wizard will open, click on Browse.
  • This will take you to a Select a Destination Window. Click on the (+) sign beside My computer and when it collapses, click C:\ to highlight it.
  • Click on Make New Folder. You can name your folder HJT or hijackthis or whatever you want, then click OK
  • The Hijackthis program will extract to your new folder and you will see the Extraction Complete window. Put a checkmark in the Show extracted files box and then click Finish.
  • The HijackThis folder will open to show the HijackThis program.
You can run hijackthis from its new location but if you find it more convenient to run it from your desktop, right-click HijackThis.exe and select Send To from the options and then choose Desktop (create shortcut).

______________________________

*First install MVPS HOSTS, please read more about what we are doing.

*Download and unzip hosts.zip from HERE to a folder (hosts).

*Open up the hosts folder and double-click on the mvps.bat file, it will rename your present HOSTS file to HOSTS.MVP, then it will copy the new HOSTS file to the correct location on your machine.

*An optional that I would recommend be uninstalled.

Logitech® Desktop Messenger (LDM)
is a free service designed to deliver software support, news and information you can use. LDM ensures that you have simple, speedy, and effortless access to product upgrades, technology tips, and technology news and offers that are relevant to you. LDM delivers information right to your desktop, allowing you to take advantage of all of the advanced features of the Logitech products you own, while staying abreast of new computer-related product and service developments (Logitech and otherwise) that are applicable to your life. Once a week, when connected to the internet, Logitech Desktop Messenger will automatically connect with Logitech servers to see if there are any new messages for you. It performs this check during idle time to avoid slowing down other applications that may be accessing the Internet. If there is a message on the server, then Logitech Desktop Messenger will download the message utilizing bandwidth that would otherwise be unused. After the message is downloaded, Logitech Desktop Messenger will wait for one minute of keyboard and mouse inactivity before displaying the message on your screen. I suggest doing all updates yourself and removing this application!

*Look in your control panels add/remove programs for any of these items in bold and uninstall them:

Yazzle by Oin
Purityscan by Oin
Snowballwars by Oin
or anything similar with Oin or Outerinfo in it.

any advice on prevention in the future?

I'll give you some later after we get you cleaned..Right now we still have quite a lot to do..

*You have quite a lot of Norton Antivirus entries left..Please run the tool HERE to completely remove Norton from your system.

*Open HijackThis > choose Scan Only > Place a checkmark in the boxes beside these entries in bold.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B6DB6DC0-AB5C-8BFF-7604-FB1A70CD5EE3} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\owxdmmm.dll

Close your browsers and all open windows except for HijackThis, then click "Fix checked".

*Please download DelDomains by WinHelp2002 and save it to your desktop:
  • Right-click on DelDomains.inf, and choose Install.
  • You may not see any noticeable changes or prompts; this is normal.
  • Then, please restart your computer.
  • You will have to re-immunize with SpywareBlaster, IE-SPYAD, and/or Spybot – Search & Destroy after doing this.
*Please download ResetProtocolDefaults by WinHelp2002 and save it to your desktop:
  • Locate ResetProtocolDefaults.reg which should be on your desktop.
  • Right-click and select: Merge.
  • OK the prompt.

i no longer have any norton products on my pc. it came with the machine when i bought it, never used it, had to work hard to get it off back in november or december. any other suggestions for the quarantined files? the other files you mentioned have been deleted. overall, the box is sluggish but functional.
