Hello ABK and Welcome to TomCoyote!

Please do the following:

Disable AdWatch:
Please disable AdWatch, as it may hinder the removal of some entries. You can re-enable it after you're clean. To disable AdWatch:
  • Open AdAware SE.
  • Go to AdWatch User Interface .
  • Go to Tools and Preferences. At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options Active and Automatic.
  • Active : This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
  • Automatic : Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically
  • Uncheck both options. You can enable these after resolving your problem.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable AdWatch again.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Thank you so much for your help.

To explain my problem, For reason unknown to me, My web browers (Firefox and IE *I hate IE*) Will connect to webpages or it will hang at "Tranferring Data to 127.0.0.1" and not log page. Now I play FFXI and other online games, They will not connect to the serves, it will go and say cords are not connected and etc. Now I have more then 1 computer that the game is installed to, So I went to check on other computer to eliminate the possibility of it being closed ports and other internet problems. Well It worked let me connect to FFXI (Final Fantasy 11 Online) and Yahoo messanager which it wont on here. I'm posting from the computer that is having problems. Adware and Zonealarm (I believe) found Sidekick thing and had removed it, But I guess I was wrong. It seems to me like its using my computer like a server or something or atleast restricting my comps internet use IDK :( thank you for the help ahead of time.
To explain my problem, For reason unknown to me, My web browers (Firefox and IE *I hate IE*) Will connect to webpages or it will hang at "Tranferring Data to 127.0.0.1" and not log page. Did you recently try to install IE7 by any chance?

Hello ABK,

For some reason the hijackthis log is unable to show what version of Internet Explorer you have.
MSIE: Unable to get Internet Explorer version!

Can you open Internet Explorer, and on the menu bar where you see "File, Edit, View, Favorites", etc. and you click on Help and then About Internet Explorer and then post (reply) with the information about the version you have.
Yes I have IE7 which I recently got rid of (After all this) but now, it wont open and also this is displayed for home page under propertys ???? S????????? Aa
After posting that homepage thing it messed up the ability to type in the box(replying) only for the box to post a messsage on here. (only that reply)
Problems were resolved. Turns out Zonealarm was at the root of all the evil. Thank you for all your help and IE still wont work :) But I dont really use it anyways

How do you get Microsoft updates then? You know Microsoft is always coming out with security patches.

Sorry I dont know what you mean I get their updates all the time I guess I wasnt looking when it said update IE 7 along with some other security updates

Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.

To use this site, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later.

To upgrade to the latest version of the browser, go to the Internet Explorer Downloads website.

If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the Microsoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. To turn on Automatic Updates:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
* Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
* Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
3. Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

So you must go to the Download Center or do you have Automatic Updates turned on?
Hello ABK,

I am uneasy about the Combofix not completing and the SSK being detected. Please do the following:

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.
