my computer is running real slow and many programs have stopped running alltogether I've done the self help stuff and it's going a little better but still not quite right. HELP PLEASE

1. Open Taskmanger (Rt Click a blank space on your lower toolbar->>Taskmanger
Under the Processes tab locateALCXMNTR.EXE
Higlite that entry and Select End Process->>Close Taskmanager

2. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entriesR1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&a…&pf=desktop

Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select "Fix checked" and close Hijackthis

3. Using Windows Explorer(Right click on "Start," select "Explore," and you will see the "tree' of file folders in the left side of the window. Click on the "+" next to any folder name to expand its contents)
Locate and Delete the following fileC:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE
Close windows explorer

4. Click Start->>All Programs->>Accessories->>System tools->>Disk Cleanup->> and run the wizard

Reboot your PC->>Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh log
