Thank you for your help in advance…. I also would like to add that i have two cookies that can not be deleted…. brandon bredda@82.98.235[2] this cookie says it can not be deleted because it is being used by another program…. And this one can be deleted but regenerates itself: brandon bredda@go[2] Also i get pop up internet broswers windows for purchasable software such as internt tv and other things like that…Also pop up windows for a spyware scan consistently….And i believe it is using some of my cpu resources because my bf2142 game can only run on less graphic settings than prior… Do not know if that adds anything but i figure the more the information the better…. Thanks, Brandon
I just restarted my computer when i got home from work and it took forever for windows to log me in but when it did my desktop was completly blank except for my background picture and i had to open task manager and file run iexploer.exe so i could even get on here to leave this reply…it seems like as each day passes things are gettin worse…. Brandon
Hi osok,
welcome to TomCoyote forum. My name is Rosty and I'm going to help you with your log.

Download ATF Cleaner.
Do not run it yet, we will shortly.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
* This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
* After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
* Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
* You will first be presented with a warning.
It should look like this

Thanks Rosty, I await your next instructions haha

Brandon
Hi osok,
thanks for the logs I asked about.

My folders have appeared back onto my desktop and start menu, so it seems to have worked because i havnt gotten the hp solution center pop up saying my computer may be infected…

The vundo infection seems to be gone.

Also when i run SpyBot S&D smitfraud toolbar888 still shows up….

Hmmmmm, no signs of toolbar888 in your HijackThis log!
Can you tell me where it does show they're located?
Will you please do the following.

Please create an uninstall list:

1. Start HiJackThis
2. Press 'Config'
3. Press 'Misc Tools'
4. Press 'Open Uninstall Manager'
5. Press 'Save List'
6. Save the log to a convenient location

In your next post, please post the uninstall list and let me know how are things running.
Note: please do not make other scans before I have seen the uninstall list!!!

Regards,

Rosty.

Hi osok,
thanks for the list.

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Rosty.

Hi osok,
thanks for the logs I asked about.

Download ATF Cleaner
Do not use it yet, we will shortly.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):
FreeProd/Toolbar888
888bar
MaxSearch/MaxiFiles
MalwareWipe
Safety Bar

Next, please open HijackThis and click do a scan only and place a check next to the following entries (if present):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4791D38B-44CD-4C9A-AC89-2C0DC8B535A2} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {67270207-b9ee-4d26-9270-860fdb060ca1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ixt3.dll (file missing)

O3 - Toolbar: Safety Bar - {fbea0445-4c4a-4136-864a-c72a4a182a84} - C:\Program Files\Safety Bar\SafetyBar.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: vturs - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winmxw32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmxw32.dll

Close all Windows and Browsers, except HijackThis and click"Fix Checked".Exit HijackThis.

Restart your computer and immediately begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.
If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear.
Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter.

Please remove these files/folders using Windows Explorer(if present):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll <– file
C:\Program Files\Safety Bar <– folder
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmxw32.dll <– file

Now run ATF cleaner.
[*]Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.

To let you know the following was not an option to fix in hijack this:

O2 - BHO: 888Bar - {C004DEC2-2623-438e-9CA2-C9043AB28508} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: 888Bar - {C004DEC2-2623-438e-9CA2-C9043AB28508} - (no file)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: vturs - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winmxw32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmxw32.dll

Also these files/folders did not exist when i looked to delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll <– file
C:\Program Files\Safety Bar <– folder
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmxw32.dll <– file

Also when i start up my computer i get an error msg that says could not load program due to system.dll was not found and that is for program update.exe, (says that in the header)

Thanks!

Brandon
