I hate to be a one-time poster but I am distressing about this virus which was sent to my MSN account. It ran and a load of pop ups appeared, then stopped my MSN. Now the PC is trying to install Update.exe. I also have 888bar on my internet explorer toolbar.

How can I get rid of this? Where can I start?

Craig

I've heard that it is a good program and trying some things out from another forum. What did you do about the winstall and mcnew files? Cheers, Craig.
superantispyware seemed to get rid of them I put the mcnew files in the recycle bin … and run superantuspyware… Be warned when running it it may keep coming up that you are trying to close it just keep clicking no …I have also reinstalled MSN and it seems to be working fine now. Just hope it is not lurking somewhere else and pops up tomorrow when i turn the pc on again.
When I ran the program, mcnew was removed and not winstall. My virus scanner found a virus in the file "installer.exe" when I rebooted though, so that's in AVGs Virus Vault. Did anything similar happen to you?
Yep My AVG put it in the virus vault sorry forgot that bit does it seem to be ok now? I will not read untill tomorrow as i am off to bed as it 23.30 in England :o
