Hello suoniser and welcome to the Tom Coyote Forums. I am currently looking over your log. As I am an still in training here, everything that I post to you must be reviewed by one of the teachers. Thus, there may be a small delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a suggested fix. Thanks for your patience! Dave
Hello suoniser,

I suspect something may be hiding from HijackThis so I suggest you rename HJT:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Open the HijackThis Folder. Find the file HijackThis.exe, Right Click on the file and Select Rename. Rename Hijackthis.exe to Spyware.exe.

Post a new HijackThis Log.
thanks for help :D

Well I was wondering what I can stop from running to give my pc more performance. I feel I have way too many programs starting up with my comp.
Hello suoniser,

Your log appears to be clean.

Let's try a few things to see if we can improve your performance.

These are optional resource hogs that aren't needed at startup.
Run HiJackThis. Check the boxes next to these items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTHelper] CTHELPER.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTxfiHlp] CTXFIHLP.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RunDLL32.exe NvMCTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Highlight Agent.lnk = ?

Then close all windows except this one and press Fix checked.

Reboot, post a new log and let me know if your performance improves.

Dave
