I just manually removed some trojans and other malware from my computer. Because I removed it manually, I realize that I probably missed some of the registry entries/files/etc. I was hoping someone could scan through my log and make sure everything that had to be killed, was killed. Thanks.

P.S. At boot up, I am now getting a pop-up box that says something along the lines of, "Cannot find file rtlfwad.dll". Do you know whats up with that? Thanks!
I forgot to mention something. When the virus got onto my computer, it installed a couple programs. The name's of these programs are: Safety Alerter 2006 Safety Bar OIN Toolbar 888 VirusBursters 6.2 What is your recommended action to get rid of these programs? Thanks!
Hello beneficialz380,

Things are looking better but we still have some work to do.

I don't see any evidence of those bad programs running in your HJT log. But if you see them in Add or Remove Programs then go ahead and remove them.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Please reverse this process once the fix is complete.

First, you have Viewpoint Manager installed on your computer. Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change in 2006 read This article.

If you do decide to remove it go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the following if present.
Click Start > Control Panel > Double Click Add or Remove Programs:

Viewpoint and/or Viewpoint Manager

Now you can run HiJackThis. Check the boxes next to these items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {10F15B7A-657B-C911-21A2-02BC1A9EAFCC} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\zimqqy.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {38A1EE30-C4A9-431E-9CBA-4749E9817E92} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhhh.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F18F04B0-9CF1-4b93-B004-77A288BEE28B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\xygdiptx.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {DE9C389F-3316-41A7-809B-AA305ED9D922} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rtlfwad.dll] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rtlfwad.dll,cmtjjo

Optional fix-if removing Viewpoint fix these 3 items:

O2 - BHO: Viewpoint Toolbar BHO - {A7327C09-B521-4EDB-8509-7D2660C9EC98} - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar\3.7.0\ViewBarBHO.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Viewpoint Toolbar - {F8AD5AA5-D966-4667-9DAF-2561D68B2012} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Viewpoint\Toolbar Runtime\3.7.0\IEViewBar.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Then close all windows except this one and press Fix checked.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by restarting your computer and tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load. This will bring up the Advanced Options Menu.
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Select the Operating System that you would like to start and press Enter (note: if there is only one simply press Enter).

Please delete the following file: (see example below if you're not sure how to do this)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rtlfwad.dll–>File Only

Delete the Viewpoint folder if you decided to remove it:

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint<–Folder Only

As an example:
To delete C:\WINDOWS\filetogo.bye
Double click the My Computer icon on your Desktop.
Double click on Local Disc (C:)

Hello beneficialz380,

I glad to hear things are running better. :D

You appear to be all clean. But I do have some recommendations for you to keep your computer this way.
I also have a quick question about a Desktask program that you appear to be running.
Although I don't believe it's malware I was just curious as to what it does.

Recommendations to stay clean:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected anyway)

1. Turn Off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Turn On System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Here is a great free tool for cleaning up all temp files, cookies, ect…

Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.
Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Under Main select the following:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Cookies
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache
*The other boxes are optional*
Then click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

You are running an old version of Sun Java which needs updating:

* Go here and click on the Download button to the right of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9.
* Accept the license agreement by clicking the radio button.
* Under Windows Platform - J2SE™ Runtime Enviroment 5.0 Update 9, click the Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language link.
* Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove any entries that refer to Java 2 Runtime Enviroment and then reboot your PC.
* Navigate to and delete the following folder, if it exists: C:\Program Files\Java.
* Finally double click the installation file that you downloaded earlier.

Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. In my signature is a link to AVG which makes an excellent AV and they have a free version.
See this link for a listing of some other online and stand-alone antivirus programs:
Virus, Spyware, and Malware Protection and Removal Resources

Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. In my signature is a link to Zone Alarm which offers a free version.
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:
Understanding and Using Firewalls

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Spybot: Search And Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers

Install Ad-Aware - Ad-Aware SE You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer

Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

Update all of your Anti-Malware programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed and the ones you are currently running regularly. Without regular updates you Will Not be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

Glad I was able to help.
Hey, Thanks for the advice! As for the DeskTask program, it is just an add-on program for Microsoft Outlook where it displays your Calendar and Tasks section of Outlook on your Desktop in an orderly form. Very useful tool for keeping organized :P
Happy to hear things are good. Sounds like a useful program. But I personally have no "organizational issues" …now where did I put that %#*! mouse.
