Hi atayxw,

Welcome to the Tomcoyote forum! I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.
HijackThis logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need
your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happens.

In order to help me help you, please observe the following while we work:
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't continue, we don't want to start all over again!
  • Understand that cleaning your computer can sometimes take multiple passes/posts,
and it's important to follow the steps as listed including re-running scans as listed
  • Please reply to this thread, do not start another.

If you can do those three things, everything should go smoothly
It may take me a while to reply to you as all of my fixes are being checked by experts to ensure that you are getting a good fix.
Hi atayxw,

You are not running a fully update and patched verison of xp. You have Windows XP SP1. You will need to install SP2(service Pack 2) After your system is clear. Please do not install SP2 on an infected system. I will let you know when it is ok. Installing SP2 on and infected system can cause problems with proper install.
—————————————-

I do not see any virus protection programs running on your machine.
You must install a virus program immediately your computer is not secuirty safe at all.
You can only run one virus program at a time running two or more with cause conflicts in programs and computer instablity.

Here are two you can choose from
link to one AVG Anti-Virus (free for personal use only available)
Scoll to bottom of page:

Just some information I like to past on……
Anti-virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer. Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash. Which leaves you open to infection.

If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.

There are basically two types of these programs:
On-Access and On-Demand

On-Access Scanners
As the name implies, it runs in the background all the time the PC is turned on and running. The main function of an on-access scanner is to monitor activity on your machine.

On-Demand Scanners
As the name implies, are scanners that only run when you ask them to.
Such as:
Online Scans and scanners that run on your machine but are not actively scanning your machine.
