"BOSTON (Reuters) - Disaffected people living in the United States may develop radical ideologies and potentially violent skills over the Internet and that could present the next major U.S. security threat, U.S.Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Monday."

.....

"To help gather intelligence on possible home-grown attackers, Chertoff said Homeland Security would deploy 20 field agents this fiscal year into "intelligence fusion centers," where they would work with local police agencies.

By the end of the next fiscal year, he said the department aims to up that to 35 staffers."

I bolded "disaffected" because there are an awful lot of us that are seriously "disaffected". We expose secret government programs and practices for what they are and how they work and do our level-best to bring them back into line with the Constitution, the Bill of Rights - and we do our level-best to bring those programs back into the normal, non-secret arena, where the accused still have right to counsel; where there must be not just "reasonable suspicion" but probable cause before subpoena's are issued; where hearsay is not admissable in a court of law (either as a means to charge or even convict someone), etc.

How long will it be, if this is allowed to continue un-challenged, before they start picking us up and "dis-appearing" us? And holding us incommunicado and using methods that can - now, "legally" - be just short of causing serious physical or mental damage to us?

I'm talking about us, people - the average, ordinary, legitimate, innocent-of-anything but critizing the Administration and their tactics AMERICAN CITIZEN!

Blogger's are already getting emails from CENTCOM ( United States Central Command ) - http://www.rawstory....ggers_1016.html - think there's not a "chilling effect" involved there? Nothing like knowing that Big brother is reading your blog and creating a file on you to squelch your appetite for free speech, is there?

What in the hell is it going to take to get people involved in stopping this? Pete
A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."
