hi

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.
This is the fixwareout report.txt file, but it didn't pop up: I had to go to c:/fixwareout to get it. The "last edited" date isn't today, either, but that could be normal(?). HijackThis log is coming next. I really appreciate all the help.

hi

that is a common error, hjt tries to make backups, but it fails to do so
anyway the bad line is gone now :)

there are still signs of nasties though:

Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop (choose "I ACCEPT" then click "DOWNLOAD" on the website).

Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement, click > "Scan" then > "Next".

You'll see a list of all items found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name "fsbl.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.log" (the xxxxxxxxxxxxxx stand for numbers).

Copy and paste this log in your next reply. Don't choose the rename option yet! I want to see the log first, because legitimate items can also be present there, such as "wbemtest.exe"
BlackLight says it didn't find anything. Here's the log: 10/25/06 19:57:53 [Info]: BlackLight Engine 1.0.47 initialized 10/25/06 19:57:53 [Info]: OS: 5.0 build 2195 (Service Pack 4) 10/25/06 19:57:53 [Note]: 7019 4 10/25/06 19:57:53 [Note]: 7005 0 10/25/06 19:58:08 [Note]: 7006 0 10/25/06 19:58:08 [Note]: 7011 300 10/25/06 19:58:08 [Note]: 7026 0 10/25/06 19:58:09 [Note]: 7026 0 10/25/06 19:58:17 [Note]: FSRAW library version 1.7.1020 10/25/06 20:00:37 [Note]: 2000 1012 10/25/06 20:03:14 [Note]: 7007 0 I won't be able to respond to your reply until next Sunday or Monday night. Death n' Roll, eh? I discovered metal last year (at age 55) and hardly listen to anything else now. Though some bangers would argue that the genre I like best - power metal a/k/a happy metal a/k/a fairycore - isn't really metal, I also like the metal classics and though my favorite group is Dragonforce, my favorite album so far is Judas Priest's Painkiller.
