Hi, This is my Hijack this log. I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I mess anything up. I recently started seeing many svchosts in my process list (at lesat 7), one of them, C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs, uses about 4,500K of memory. I also see that Internet Explorere is running twice in the process list bit I never start it or see it becuase I use Netscape. I also have some spyware that keeps getting into my computer no matter how many time I delete it, I usually use ETrust Pest Patrol. I got the whole Suite free from Road Runner (My ISP). I hope I didn't leaver anything out and I hope you can tell me what to delete. Thanks.

Stephen J.
Hey, I posted this log a couple of weks ago and when I didn't get a reply I was told to repost with a new scan. I hope I 'm doing this right by posting in a new Topic. Sorry if this is wrong. I don't know exactly whats wrong with my computer, I just know it's running too slow and I think the process list is a little too long. I ran a spyware and anti virus check and they came up with nothing. I also ran VunDo. It came up with a couple of things, which I unfortunatley forgot their names. Anyways, I deleted them but now every time I start up I get an error message telling me my computer could not find them. So, I hope you can tell if and what I need to delete from this HJT log and If you know anything about Vundo. Thanks for your help!

I am currently looking over your log. As I am an Undergraduate, everything that I post to you must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a potential fix. Thanks for your patience!
Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
