Hi, Im a bit of a novice but interested in keeping my laptop secure and clean, so often run spyware, virus programs etc, came across hijack this and was a bit confused as to what the log file means, so here it is…

Welcome to the forum, since you are new to HJT and TomCoyote, I'll take a moment to let you know we use the diagnostic tool, HJT to spot malware. While HJT can not see it all, it would have to be a hugh program, it looks at the places hackers normally use. To understand the logs and discern the good from the bad requires a lot of training and hard work. I will include a link to Classroom in case you have an interest. Now let me say your HJT log looks fine, you do have a Java program that is out of date and a security issue, see this information:
