Integrity Scan Wizard & Invisible Campaign Popup

Hi,

I have the very annoying Integrity Scan Wizard & Invisible Campaign Popups, but when i run HJT and look at the log, I do not see the usual stuff that is associated with this malware. One thing i should mention is that the malware is on my work PC, so i cannot boot into safe mode like a lot of these resolutions ask for.

Here is my HJT log. If anybody can help, i would be very thankful as this is really starting to annoy me. :rant2:

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Download VundoFix.exe to your desktop from here:

VundoFix.exe

1. Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
2. Click the Scan for Vundo button.
3. Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
4. If it doesn't find anything, in the main program window, choose "Add more files?".
Type the files names below into the box EXACTLY AS SHOWN:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtuttts.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qmstfun.dll

Click Close Window, then Remove Vundo.

5. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
6. Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
7. When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
8. Turn your computer back on.

Post a new HijackThis! log, along with the contents of this file:

C:\vundofix.txt

into this thread.

There are other things that need your attention, and I don't believe your not being able to boot in "safe" mode will be a problem.

Hi,

Vundofix asked to reboot the PC twice to remove the files and there is no vundofix.txt on the C:\ drive or anywhere else.

I can still see geedc.dll and vtutts.dll even though vundofix was meant to remove this.

Download combofix.exe from the link below:

Combofix.exe

Save it to your desktop. <— VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Go to Start –> Run and copy/paste in the following:

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /v vtuttts geedc qmstfun

Then hit or click OK

When finished, it will produce a log for you.

Post that log in your next reply, along with a new HijackThis! log. :)

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Hi, When I type that command in the RUN box, Combofix starts running but then in the DOS window, I get… Access is denied The system cannot find the file specified. Could not find C:\~ I also get a little window popup saying… ComSpec Error - Reboot is Mandatory Combofix has detected the ComSpec Environment Variable is corrupt & has restored the value. Please reboot the machine & run Combofix again. If i reboot the machine, it does the same again and I tried it 3 times. Are there any other avenuei can try..? Shaun.

You'll need to do what I post here, then LEAVE THE MACHINE ON.

The files involved in this infection can change names with each reboot, and if we don't get them all, the infection will return.

First, post a new Hijackthis! log.

Then do this:

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

l2mfix.exe (© Shadowwar)

l2mfix.exe (© Shadowwar)

Save the file to your desktop and l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing .

This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log.

Copy/paste the contents of that log into this thread.


IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder!


DO THESE THINGS ONLY WHEN YOU CAN LEAVE THE PC ON UNTIL I REPLY.

The above script is for this user only, if you need help please start your own thread.

Start the Avenger.
Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
Click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script".
Paste the entire text in into this window.
Click done, now click on the Green Light
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
Your computer shoud reboot, and briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.

After the restart, it will create a log file that should open.
This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
Paste the contents of the file into your reply along with a fresh HJT log.

Also: Avenger has made backups of all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, located at C:\avenger\backup.zip.

When I press the green button, i can 'yes' to the first question, then it comes back with 2 error windows. The first one says… Error: could not create driver file And the 2nd one says… Error code: 0 Could not log error — aborting now! If it helps, i did exactly as you asked. The avenger.exe is on the desktop, and i have pasted the script into the edit/paste window including the 'Files to delete:' line. Thanks for being so patient. Any more suggestions..? Regards, Shaun.

If it doesn't work, you'll have to give this problem over to your I.T. department, or System Administrator for resolution.

The restrictions put on you from your network are a huge detriment to removing this infection.

I see the need for security within a corporate network, but SHEESHHHH!!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have what I need at this time.

Do this tomorrow, and I'll reply with my last attempt.

You'll need to do what I post here, then LEAVE THE MACHINE ON.

First, post a new Hijackthis! log.

Then do this:

l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing .

This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log.

Copy/paste the contents of that log into this thread.


IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder!


DO THESE THINGS ONLY WHEN YOU CAN LEAVE THE PC ON UNTIL I REPLY.
