Hi,
When I do a Google search or MSN search and click the desired link, I am directed to a site other than the one I selected. It will let me go to the desired site on the third attempt. I have run the various spy ware programs but it still happens. Appreciate any help you can give. Here is log:

Hi jimrod and welcome to TomCoyote's forums :wavey:

I am currently looking over your log. As I am an Undergraduate, everything that I post to you must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a potential fix.

Thanks for your patience! :)
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt

Close all browsers & other windows and click fix checked.

Delete following file & folder:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMDTH.EXE <–file (if still there)
c:\program files\support.com <–folder

Now lets check some settings on your system.
(2000/XP) Only
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Click the Networking tab. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable on some systems
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)

Post a new hjt log.
I am sending this from a library PC. I have a problem. Prior to implementing the last fix, my searches were no longer being hi-jacked so I waited a few days to run the last fixes. I did the fix, tried to delete DMDTH but it was not there, tried to delete support.com but got a access denied message re libeay32.dll. When I tried to log on to post a copy of the log I could not access the internet. Got the "could not find server" message. I worked with my son and he got me back to where Explorer will launch and connect but Explorer then shuts down. I did a system restore to a date before I made the last changes but Explorer still shuts down. I did not get to the point where I did the ipconfig /flushdns command and I could not select the "Obtain DNS servers automatically" Thoughts? Thanks
Hi jimrod :) Could you run fixwareout again and post its log together with a fresh hjt log, please? It's been a week since your last post so we need fresh information and those logs will provide it. :)
Do you own flash memory stick? If possible, you could copy those fixwareout and hjt logs on it and post results when you're on library PC. Other method would be using alternative browser like Firefox but you don't seem to have it on your computer, have you?
The PCs here don't look like they will take a memory stick. Should the files fit on a floppy disc? My son, an IT manager, is encouraging me to add Firefox so after I get IE fixed I will do so.
