I'm new to this program but here goes. I've tried many things to remove "http://iesettingsupdate" but to no avail. I've run Search & Destroy, Lavasoft, Symantec Corp edition virusscan and CCleaner.
Please advise what else need to be done.

Post (reply) with a fresh HijackThis log and the log from Kapersky.
I went through the results of HJT and was able to see the same things you pointed out. This was soooo easy to use. I also ran CCleaner and Trend Micros online scan and it was clean. Thanks for the help
