I had a babysitter into crazy stuff on my computer this weekend and now have major troubles. Have run adaware, ccleaner, spybot search and destroy, windows defender and have checked for updates on everything. Trying to log into most websites is impossible, I click on a link and 45 seconds later ( I have High speed) I get a "page cannot be displayed" message. Can you help?

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:

  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.

[external image: Posted Image]

The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

reboot and see if that helps
Things seemed to have sped up considerably. But I just moved a folder marked "library" (I'm not sure where this came from, appeared about a week ago) from my desktop to unused icons and after the reboot it has appeared again. There's nothing in it would it be safe to delete it and where could it be coming from? Also, during all of these problems I've had, my windows defender has said there were no threats in my computer, would it be safe to say this program doesn't help much? Which of the programs you had me download can I delete, which should I keep and use?

Things seemed to have sped up considerably. But I just moved a folder marked "library" (I'm not sure where this came from, appeared about a week ago) from my desktop to unused icons and after the reboot it has appeared again. There's nothing in it would it be safe to delete it and where could it be coming from?
I would have no idea what it is or where it came from.

Also, during all of these problems I've had, my windows defender has said there were no threats in my computer, would it be safe to say this program doesn't help much? Which of the programs you had me download can I delete, which should I keep and use?

Different programs do different checks. No one program will do it all. You can use add/remove programs and remove all the ones I had you download. If not listed, just delete them.
