Hi all, AVG is beinga problem this time….

it is in a long notepad file but that is my ''reg search''. i used: ''avg'' for my reg search.

AVG keeps popping up and saying it cannot find kernal or something similar.

Can someone please help me remove it,

Hi Micah. i uninstalled it via the add/remove programs, but it seems to be left on the registry…..causing problems. I am just wanting to remove it totally and put a different anti virus on it.

When I click the link to MegaUpload you posted, I can't see any registry search file. :scratch: Let's start with a new HijackThis! log, and progress from there, please. :)

you have to download the file off megaupload? it's only like 1kb, so it should be ok? Basically, you wait til it does the countdown in the top right and click download……and then download the notepad file. I put it there because if i copied and pasted it here, it'd take about 5 posts to show you it like some other thing you helped me get rid of. thanks, Bizzy

Sorry bout this megaupload thing, but here is how to do it exactly:

Thats the megaupload screen. I've circled the bit we're looking at. Type in the little code it asks for (just to verify you're not a 'bot). Then click download, and the countdown starts…..then after the countdown it'll say: ''download now'', just click it to download.


Sorry but it's the best way to do it in my opinion, it'd take up too much room on here…





EDIT: After looking at the message you posted, you may not even need the results from my registry search. I'll do what you said and see where that gets us, thanks as always micah 6:8

^^^ how do i stop them? The problem is still there because when i tried to install Panda Antivirus, it says Avg is already on my pc. I guess the problem is gonna take a little bit more to solve :( thanks

Those 3 items need to be "fixed" with HijackThis! if they are still in your log. I'll have to look your registry search data later today. We'll have to "brute force" most of the AVG items out before Panda will install……….. :blink:

hold on……Micah it's ok….! My dad did a system restore and everything is working now. Thanks very much for all your efforts and time!
