Hi april1650,
welcome to the Tom Coyote Forum.
My name is mschroe919 and I would like to help. If you still need help please reply back with a new log. Along with the new log tell me how your PC is behaving now?.
The reason for a new log, explained below.

NOTICE:
Before you post a HJT log, you are running from a TEMP folder. When we use HJT to fix anything it makes a back up in case something goes wrong. In the Temp folder you can't get to the back up.
Move HJT here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need more instructions use these:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
Be sure to unistall the one in the temp folder.
Good luck mschroe919 and I will wait for your new log.
Thanks… i just got rid of the hijack tool. I have no clue on how to use it and i dont want to screw things up. I dont know how to get rid of this internet script error when i try and print from some pages. I unchecked the third party cookie thing in the tools and i thought this would be something easy to use. Thanks for you help though.
Yeah, I dont really know what to do. I opened the hijack like the directions said but i must of missed a step cause you said i was in the temporary file… i dont know and i dont want to screw up this comp. I may try again when i understand it a lil more. Thanks for tryin to help me out. I feel like a quiter. lol.
Hi april1650,
welcome to the Tom Coyote Forum.
My name is mschroe919 and I would like to help.

I want to help you. There is no cause for alarm in messing up your PC.
When you get the HJT into a folder all you have to do is as you did before.
Open the HJT and run..Do a system scan and save a log file.
Once you have the new log saved copy and paste into this same forum.
Let me help you here:

First create the folder:
Go here:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
Then:
Go here:
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Hija…nload-5034.html
and get the latest ver of HijackThis 1.99.1.
Then put it in your folder you created.
If you get a little nervous thats ok we all did at one time or another.
If you don't know about something…Please ask.
I can see from the log before there will be some things to fix.
Please thats what we do here. we are all volenters.
Good luck mschroe919
PS
If you decide not to try please let me know so I can move on to another client.
OK I followed what you said this time the log came up on the notepad. Let me know if i missed a step, AND THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME & PATIENTS!

Hi april1650

Welcome back to the TomCoyote Forums.
I have read your log and there is a lot of work to be done

Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference. If you have any questions regarding the fix, please ask us before proceeding. Please make sure that you follow this in the right order as I have listed.

Uninstall New.Net
First:

Please Download LSPFix.exe to a convenient location.Get it here..
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet

NEXT

Click Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs, and then Uninstall these programs (if present)

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains

** If it is not there, go here
http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html
and follow Procedure 4: NewDotNet Removal Procedure 4.

** In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. Check the "I know what I'm doing" button. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.

Run HijackThis

Please open HJT, click Do a system scan only, and then place a checkmark beside each of these entries:

My network blocks that program you want me to download from the top of the list. Should I still follow the rest of your instructions
Hi april1650
Yes do the rest of the stuff. But try to go to a PC that will connect to the internet and :
Please Download LSPFix.exe to a floppy disk. Get it here..
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
Save it to a flopy disk. Then if you need to run it, do so from the flopy and you internet should be okay.
Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet

Lets do the removal of New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains from add/rem programs.
Then follow from the last instructions the rest and post a ne HJT log back here.
Good luck mschroe919
Ok Tom, Sorry I haved been swamped here at work. I think I did this right. Let me know what you think.

Hi april1650
Your log is looking better, pat yourself on the back your doing great.

Sorry I should have been more plain as to what window explore is.
Windows explore is where you can see what on all your drives.

Here is how to get there:
You would right-click the Start button and select "Explore.
There you navagate till you get to the folder desired and
open that folder to find files wanted.

Please Using Windows Explorer locate this:
delete the folder in RED
C:\WINDOWS\/ALCXMNTR.EXE

Double check these and see if they are gone.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate and delete the following
RED folders and files, if found:(not to worry if not there)
C:\Program Files\AskBar\bar\bin\askBar.dll
Now do a search for this
PowerReg Scheduler.exe
When found delete it.
To do a search do this:
click on start then click on search then click on all files amd folders
then type in the PowerReg Scheduler.exeIf you done all these in the past
log omitt them now.

Reboot and post another HJT log and tell me how your PC is behaving now.
Good luck mschroe919
