Here is the info. I didn't find any TAC on Adware SE either. The only things I downloaded last night were Weather Pulse and the Everest Home Addition. My sons got stupid last yesterday and I spent the night in the ER. When I got back at 4 am DH was having trouble. Thats when I saw the problem. None before I left. He just clicked on the "E" for the internet and a page shows up for an add to buy software to get rid of this….

Win32.Trojandownloader.Zlob
Win32.Trojandownloader.Zlob(TAC index:10):3 total references

What it is doing is when I open my internet connection to my homepage is immediatley go to http://theuptodatesafety.com/. Then there's an icon in my tray at the bottom that keeps blinking with a warning message that says to click on it to repair. When I did that it goes to http://www.virusburst.com/?aff=334

The icon in the tray is a stop sign circle with a slash thru it. The background is blue with a white question mark and circle.

Here's the Hijack log

  • Login on your usual account.

Something disabled most the add on's. Are there any I may need? I did turn back on Ebay add on's. I use Ebay a lot. I also turned back on Norton add on's. The darn Narton was having a hissy fit popping up a box…RULES are created for Internet Explorer. Whatever we done also reset Internet Explorer and I had to set it up again. It's gone! That terrible thing is gone! YAY! :D BUT, I also can't play games in Pogo. :(
CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot.

That should do it.

I've not heard of this "disabling the add-ons"…

I suppose you can turn them back on as required, or just turn them all back on now.
You've still got Java:

Reboot.

See if Pogo is OK.
Pogo says it can't be found. I looked where I know to look in advanced under the Internet Options. I don't see it. :( Should SSL 2.0 be checked? Java is not showing at all.
