Hi I'm Angelfire777 and it'll be my pleasure to assist you in your problem. Reasearching Hijackthis logs could take sometime so please, be patient while I research a fix for you. Also, I have to let experts check my fixes first before bringing them to you. Please observe these while we work: 1.) Please stick with this thread until we are finished, do not start a new topic here or start a new thread at other forums. Do not worry, We were trained to help and never give up until we get you all fixed up. 2.) Stop if you have questions!! Never proceed if something is unclear to you. We don't want to start all over again. 3.) Avoid downloading other applications or other anti-spyware programs unless you really need to. 4.) Lastly, please be patient and never lose hope. Sometimes, it will take us several tries and posts to get something done. Sit back tight, I'll be back for you!
You have executed HijackThis directly from the zip file which means that the backups that it makes will not be saved. We need to move hijackthis.

To move hijackthis:
  • Right click on your hijackthis.zip file. On the menu that comes up, click extract files
  • In the destination path box copy and paste these in: C:\Documents and Settings\Window user\Desktop\hijackthis.
  • Click OK
That would create a folder called hijackthis to your desktop and it will extract all the contents of hijackthis.zip to that folder.
==========================
I see you are running 2 antivirus applications at the same time. Please uninstall your other antivirus and only keep 1. Not only will 2 or more AV's slow down your pc's performance but it reduces your overall system security at the same time. Use add/remove programs in the control panel to uninstall the antivirus that you don't want to keep.

Reboot after uninstalling
==========================
Open hijackthis > choose scan only >place a checkmark against the boxes beside these entries in bold

close your browsers and all open windows, then click "Fix Checked"
==========================
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt
Thanks Angelfire. I've been looking voor two AV-programs but could only find Symantec. Receive regularly messages that Autoprotect is disabled though. Hi, let's try to reinstall Norton AV. If you have your norton cd, please uninstall all of norton's components in your add/remove programs in control panel then reboot.

If norton's uninstallation is not successful, try this tool HERE to uninstall norton completely.

After that, try installing it again then please post back and tell us how the reinstall went.
Hey Angelfire, I've Symantec AV 9.0 running, not Norton AV. It's a corporate edition with a 24 month license which expires January 1st because I sometimes work at home on my private pc. I'll ask our helpdesk for the disk. Internet Explorer works fine now, so thanks very much for your help!
Hi, I apologize for the long delay in responding. We just had a 5 day power outage. I'll try my best to post back within 48 hours. Thank you for your understanding.
Congratulations! Your log looks clean!
